Weekend dinner idea
For something healthy that the boy might eat as well, I’m trying hummus coated chicken with sweet potato mash and winter squash. We’re still cooking so I’ll let you know how it goes but I’d love to hear what you’re cooking your little ones this weekend??

@Lisa John Ah dinner with cocktails never fails!
Mealtime Magic: Kids Copy Kids
Lunch today was a reminder of how much kids copy each other! My friend’s little girl happily put on her bib after seeing my son wearing one.🥄💛 Anyone else notice how easily children are influenced during mealtimes?

We tried doing as many mealtimes as possible with friends that had kids of a similar age. It’s interesting how good food habits seem to win when they see each other rather than the bad ones!
How’s your week started?
Any new or fun healthy food habits tried out??

@Lisa John making sure you have something for them is important if you’re eating a food they can’t have

Hey 👋 It's great to have you here! We all love our food and know that sometimes it's hard to get kids to eat anything, let alone something that's good for them 🥕 This is a place where you can share all your stories, ask advice and post your fun plates of food to help and encourage each other. Start by introducing yourself, we'd love to know where you're based and who you're cooking for!

Welcome to the community @Aliesha Smith 👋 It looks like you're into your food and run your own community so we're super excited to have you here. We're all about making the relationship young people have with food a lot healthier and more fun! Hopefully we can help some frustrated parents along the way!

We regularly take our 22-month-old to restaurants and have done since he was a baby! My husband and I are both aligned on no screens at mealtimes, and we’ve found that dining out with a toddler can work really well when you plan around their needs. Our top tips: ⏱️ Don’t expect them to stay out dining for hours. 🥝 Bring a snack (our son is a foodie!) to keep them going while waiting for food. 👨‍🍳 Check the menu in advance and plan what they’ll eat. 📚Take a book or small toy and bring it out only when needed to keep them engaged. 🗣️Talk to them and actively engage to hold their attention. With a little preparation and realistic expectations, eating out as a family can be enjoyable for everyone. 🤍 Do you dine out with your children? If so, how do you find the experience? Please share your experience and any additional tips below ⬇️

We love dining out and have found it particularly difficult as our 2 and a half yr old has got older. He doesn't want to sit still which means we often have to get creative about keeping him entertained. My tips; 1) Find somewhere that does a 3 course kids menu. Having small portions come out regularly is so much better than waiting ages for your meal. 2) We find sticker books are super helpful for keeping them engaged. 3) Find restaurants with an open kitchen, kids love to watch and it's fun for kids to see what's going on in the kitchen
