8Dio's Requiem Nova
Anyone here have experience with 8Dio's Requiem Nova? They've sent me a 50% cross grade offer, because I own Requiem Pro. I didn't get along with that library or their other Kontakt choirs; found them too hard to work with compared to Chorus and Storm Choir. Is Requiem Nova easier to work with? Is Soundpaint a good platform? Thanks!

I got their choir libraries in a bundle about a year and a half ago although I mostly use the Lacrimosa one. It’s worked pretty good for me
What are some best practices when programming and mixing virtual guitars?
While I produced many songs ranging from rock up to heavy metal with electric guitar libraries. I still feel like they don’t sound realistic enough. I know nothing beats the real thing, but how do approach programming and mixing virtual guitars?

@Alex Pfeffer Multitracking is something I already did, but just recently I started stacking different guitar libraries to get more “power”, hahahah. I might need to see more tutorials on EQ and compression on guitars to get the modern tone that I want. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Neural DSP plugins but haven’t checked them out. I currently use Guitar Rig 5 which gives you different types of amp sims and cabinets in the plugin, but from what I researched on Neural DSP they seem to have one plugin for each amp/cab sim combination?

@Andrew Hand Definitely good to have libraries that offer the DI. So you use the virtual guitar as an extra layer to the real thing? That’s a pretty good idea! Sadly, I don’t know how to play guitar nor own one and have some difficulty having someone record the stuff I program 😅
Odd timings?
Hi everyone, do you have any tracks in odd time signatures? I’ve written plenty in bands over the years and occasionally use them in orchestral pieces too. Sometimes it’s just for fun, other times it’s to fit the visuals of a scene. I’d love to hear your odd-timed music if you’re open to sharing!

@Dave Graham it can be pretty hard to make a trailer track on something like 11/8 but it can definitely be done. For example Kevin Rix’s track “Destroyer” for Audiomachine’s industry release “Origins”. It sounds insanely good despite the odd time signature, hahah!
Personal domain
I know this has been discussed and I asked Alex myself, but now I'm wondering if it's a good option to buy a domain directly on Google Workspace, what's the difference if I do it through another platform like Domain.com or directly on Google Workspace? Thanks.

@Andrew Hand I second this motion, I’m also using Hover as the registrar for my website and it has been a pretty good experience.
Which movie make you want to watch it due to the music used in the trailer?
As we know, the purpose of trailers is to sell you the movie, which is why the music in it is also important. So which movie trailer whose track made you want to see the movie? For me, it was the trailer for “2012” directed by Rolan Emmerich which featured Two Steps From Hell’s “Master Of Shadows”. The combination of the music with the scenes fascinated me. It also is one of the reasons it made me want to produce trailer music.
