Walk in the Past (from the pages of my first book)
Something different today for you, my speaker friend. Every day in my own Skool community, I post the day's entry from my first book, Honorary Indian Decolonized. Today's entry made me think of each of you, so I thought I would repost it here (along with the flashback video I shared with my followers). Enjoy! _________________________________________ We have all heard them. They tell us to live in the present, to plan for the future, but to NEVER ever live in the past. I agree wholeheartedly but sometimes, just sometimes, I think we need to go for a brief stroll through the doors of yesterday … It’s amazing how different the past looks when gazed upon with the knowledge and experience of today. Pain that threatened to destroy is but a memory in present day light. Joys that we wanted to last forever are now pleasant memories, and trials we thought insurmountable are … done. And look at US, my how we have changed! We wear our wisdom so well, like a well-cut suit, and the knowing smile of experience is so becoming. No, we are not as young, yet we have gained self-knowledge, and nothing is more attractive than that. Yes, a brief walk is good. Beware of the temptation to stay! For this was never meant to be. We belong in the present, planning for our future, but we should never hesitate to travel back, to once again review and learn from the past. Bonus content - a video of mine "from the past". Enjoy! (And for those who are wondering, the book is available on Amazon.) Love ya! Sandi
