Will a community be HOT? or NOT?
How can you KNOW if a community is shaping up to be FIRE material? If you want to run your "un-business" from your cell phone in an hour a day... ...without NEEDING employees ...without you NEEDING to run ads ...without FUNNELS and sales people and such There is one FACTOR that's more important than any other. If you've started your group and have 56 members... The first thing you should do is NOT necessarily run an auction...or any type of campaign. It's okay to do that, but it doesn't guarantee that your community will ultimately grow without you doing all the work. What does? 👉SHAREABLITY FACTOR When you get your "seed members" that could be 50, 100 or more... You want to FIND OUT if your members will SHARE the MOVEMENT/MISSION of your community. It's pretty straightforward. I tested here in CFM when we were about to cross 500 Flames. ===>Here was the post Take a look at how many members we have NOW! (11 days later) I've got more advanced ways to get members to share (Audience Multiplier Campaign, but that's for another day.) If they SHARE your community. That means your MOVEMENT and/or MISSION are on target. If they don't... You need to dig into convos, polls, and posts to find a CHANGE IN THE WORLD they are more passionate about. Remember... YOU don't have to be the EXPERT. You are the CURATOR/PRODUCER! Like a movie producer, your job isn't to act in the movie, hold the camera, work the lighting or even FUND the movie. You need to have a GREAT SCRIPT, that gets the ACTORS excited to be a part of the movie, once you have the GREAT ACTORS, then investors are excited to FUND the movie. Now... Please don't try to do ALL OF THIS IN YOUR HEAD. Yes, you want to have a THEORY of your MOVEMENT and MISSION... But I am NEVER SMART ENOUGH to know with certainty if it will align.

@Travis Sago This makes so much sense. I’ve definitely fallen into the trap of overthinking the mission in my head, but the shareability test cuts straight to the truth. Love the “movie producer” analogy, reminds me it’s not about being the expert, it’s about curating the script and actors.

I made a doc showing info on the Top 20 Skool groups in the MONEY category. The doc shows: Group name Price MRR Description About page copy I made it so I can analyze the copy and find repeating common patterns. The PDF is attached here. P.s...5 of the top 20 groups are NOT in English. HUGE markets out there!

Hey @Tom Curtis thanks for sharing this - this is eye opening - 5 of the top 20 being not in English , makes me think how we could partner with someone who might be bilingual to bring Ronin tools and skills to their audience.
Selling the MISSION = $1.2M in 18 months
Let's kickstart this campfire with some Mission MOJO because Uncle Sago is speaking our language here... We've (my twin bro and I) been in the digital marketing minefield since the age of 18 (35 now), so we've taken our share of beatings. It wasn't until we got fired from our biggest client and lost almost all our MRR that we had a rock bottom realization that we couldn't keep trying to get better at marketing... we had to figure out how to make our clients more marketable. Since marketing changes all the damn time, there's one variable in the equation that never has... The brain inside the buyer 🧠 So we started studying cults, cult brands, movements, and tribal psychology to understand not just what makes humans want to buy something... But BUY-IN to something so they actually engage, get results, and keep paying us so we don't have to keep chasing buyers. The secret Uncle Sago is sharing in here is the same principle we've been using to build cult-like communities over the last 7 years... You can't make people want to buy... (people don't want more homework) But you CAN make them want to BELONG. (this is an existential human need) So that's why a shared MISSION is so critical to a community because that's what your members are buying into... That's how you get psychological buy-in so they're willing to pay to join your community... That's how you get community engagement by indoctrinating them into this mission so they drink the Kool-Aid... That's how you get long-term retention by turning lurkers into lifers because they feel a deep sense of belonging that they can't get anywhere else. Uncle Sago is a G at building mission-based communities... But most common communities struggle because they don't know this stuff so they do what everyone else does... Sell the components of the community. If you look at most Skool pages, it's like a grocery list of courses and content they get access to inside the community. But nobody wants more INFORMATION...

@Arndt Aschenbeck love how you framed this. From what I’ve seen, it’s less ‘money vs mission’ and more about alignment: when the mission genuinely creates value for others, revenue becomes the fuel that keeps the mission alive. It’s not dirty, it’s stewardship. That’s the “third way” I think , design a mission that truly matters and build a model that sustains it financially so you don’t burn out. Profit becomes proof the mission is working, not the opposite of it..my two cents
