Dinner out at the country club
Attire for a cold night out at the club. Layers! Black turtleneck under a navy crew neck sweater. Dark grey wool pleated trousers. All under my camel wool blend overcoat and black/white newsboy cap. Not visible, my Allen Edmonds Kiltie loafers.

@Sean Kavanaugh Thanks, Sean! The best feeling is to walk into your closet and know that you always have options!

Is is Vanity, or Self-Improvement?
My loving wife has raised a valid point, asking why I'm always taking "selfies" and posting them. I've tried to explain that it's not vanity; it's a highly scientific process for Project: Develop Awesome Style. By documenting my outfits, I'm creating a visual database to track what works and what makes me look like I got dressed in the dark. So, team, I put it to you: is this an advanced personal development strategy or just a terminal case of vanity? I await your expert opinions.

For me, it is one of many aspects of my personal development and/or self reinvention. Weight loss, fitness, etiquette, quest for knowledge, style, etc. As well as self-reflection in photos and deeds. These are all positive aspects of myself that I want to carry into my 60s.
Every Weekend is an Opportunity
Today is Saturday. The start of the weekend. The time when everybody else takes their foot off the gas to "recharge their batteries" and slack off. But if you're someone who's in pursuit of massive goals in life... I'd advise against doing the same. Saturday and Sunday are 2 of the 7 days you have every week to make progress toward your goals. That's close to 30% of your week. How much further ahead could you be if you used these days as an opportunity to widen the gap between yourself and everybody else? How much more skilled could you become? How many more reps could you take? How much more could you accomplish? Understand that time is an extremely valuable asset... One you need to make the most of if you truly want to build the life you say you do. If you willingly choose to piss away 30% of the that time... What makes you think your goals will even be possible for you? It's an arrogant thought. Every weekend is an opportunity. Take it seriously. Very few people can compete with the one who shows up and executes every single day. That could be you. The choice is yours to make. ~ Andy Frisella

The Choice Comes First
You can change your whole life today. Right now. Not someday. Not after you feel ready. Today. It’s as simple as choosing. You haven’t chosen yet. You have been floating… Hoping things materialize… You think something is wrong but it isnt… You just haven’t chosen yet. Who the hell are you? What do you want to be? You have to choose those things and you can make that choice today. Right now… …you can decide who you’re going to be and start living like that person immediately. …but you gotta start working like that person before you live the life of that person. The thing is… The life you’re living right now is not random. It’s not bad luck. It’s not the world doing something to you. It’s the result of a previous version of you. A version that didn’t decide. A version that floated. A version that coasted. A version that reacted instead of chose. A version that didn’t understand that identity is not discovered… It’s chosen. Intentionally. The consequences of that previously unaware person you were are what you’re living inside of today. Here’s the part most people miss. When you choose a new identity, the world does not instantly respond. Nothing changes overnight. Your bank account won’t magically shift. Your body won’t immediately transform. People won’t suddenly treat you differently. That lag is where most people quit. They decide. They act for a week. They don’t see results. …and they assume the decision didn’t work. It did. Reality just hasn’t caught up yet. Identity changes first. Behavior follows. Results lag. That’s the order. If you decide today who you are and then you live the way that person would live with discipline, structure, and consistency… …the world has no choice but to adjust over time. Not because you wish it. Because you force it. You don’t become that person when the results show up. The results show up because you became that person. Most people wait for a guarantee before they commit. Winners commit and let time deliver the life that comes with the identity.
