Anti Iranian hate
I've noticed a rise in anti Iranian hate in the last two days from woke left and woke right. I see journalists, activists, spokespersons with large following on social platforms calling for deportations of Iranians, calling us whores and prostitutes. Calling us not Iranian. There has been attacks on Iranians in NYC, London, Paris, etc. I expect these to rise. Basijis have created telegram channels to identify the diaspora Iranians going to protests. They upload pictures of individuals and doxx them. On the other hand, I see those who claim to be our allies coming in with all kinds of criticism such as "get armed and go fight your own fight". In the meantime, the islamic republic released a statement announcing there will be repercautions for Iranians diaspora if we engage in anti regime activity or collaborate with the US or Israel, cornering and threatening our families inside Iran. As an Iranian, I can't help but think we are once again being drowned by all sides. This certainly affects the psychological state of the diaspora all while Iran is in internet blackout, and we are unable to reach out to our families. I tried to paint a picture of what an average Iranian is going through at the moment, including myself.

I will disagree with Daniel's assessment. I think from the left the initial shock that some people don't hate Jews as much as they do is wearing off, and of the choices "maybe Jews are not the root of all evil" and "maybe Iranians are also the root of all evil" they are choosing the more predictable option. As for "get armed and go fight your own fight", I think this response comes from not understanding how many lives this costs and how much Iranians have already sacrificed. I wonder what those people would have to say about Jan 8th-9th.

So cute
Iran's Oil
So Israel has struck multiple oil facilities causing Tehran's sky to become thick with smoke. Analysts on Fox News are saying we don't have to worry about gas prices and strait of Hormuz, because U.S is going to take all the oil soon. What is the meaning of this rhetoric? The longer this war goes on, the less it sounds like a humanitarian intervention and more like outright conquest. Trump's narrative changed from regime change to regime collapse and a failed state. When we asked for an intervention, it was to help us fight back against IRGC. We didn't say "Bomb our oil sites and take all our oil". This kind of rhetoric only rallies people around the flag and U.S and Israel should know better. When everything is on fire and the air is toxic, people aren't gonna pour into the streets to fight against the regime. Especially since we still have no weapons. Is there a plan to arm the people? The IRGC is only gettign more aggressive and retaliating against civilians. Is there a plan to control the toxic fumes? Trump has promised to help Iran build back better than before, but the longer the war drags on, the less likely that statement seems to be true. I hope I'm wrong. I really hope Trump follows through on the promises he made to the people of Iran.

@Farbod Babaeipirouz it's a peripheral consideration: it is good that a free Iran will sell oil to the US at normal prices as part of normal trade rather than sell to our enemies at discounted prices to fund the regime through sanctions. However, obtaining oil is not a reason to go to war. The US has plenty of oil already, and as much as having access to more oil in order to reduce the price helps economically, wars are expensive and unpopular. I don't know who these analysts are, whether they are or whether they are right about what they said, but we've not had any wars over oil yet and American interests in Iran are even less oil-related than any other wars to date.

@Daniel Bell It's not that I trust the gang of 8, it's that you can't seriously expect to broadcast your plans for a surprise attack before you launch it. I'm saying informing them is about the most he could have done to inform congress that could possibly remain behind closed doors. Let's also not forget that the exact timing of the strike was decided actively based on evolving intelligence about the location of the bearded fucks. The amount of time in advance that Trump was certain he would strike is measured in hours, not days.
Hebrew pod פודקאסט המהפכה
As I raised in the discussion group, a lot of Israelis don’t know the MAJORITY of Iranians love us and are on our side This has nothing to do with internal Israeli politics. It doesn’t matter if you’re pro or anti Bibi or pro or anti judicial reform. Iranians’ support for Israel is probably the most important strategic strength for us and will help us survive in the future, not to mention thrive militarily and economically by unleashing a very powerful new ally. So I would like us to make a Hebrew language discussion group explaining a lot of this in Hebrew to Israelis. Raising misconceptions and explaining these facts. And by extension to Jews worldwide. Reply if you want to be part and we can figure out time and if we do it here or on a separate zoom call. If you don’t speak Hebrew but want to be in the call I believe this can also be arranged.

I speak Hebrew but badly. Also, is this to be a regular thing? I don't know what we'd talk about beyond the first episode 😅

I was just looking at this yesterday actually. If you look at their slogans page, you will not find "death to the three corruptions" there, but you will find "no to mullahs no to shah".

@Present Heart Shai Lev Wikipedia is kind of fucked because its top editors have strong biases, they edit and lock from further editing some articles, and there will always be plenty of people that hate us to counteredit. I think the entire medium is kind of hopeless.
