Jesus and training
It means making physical effort an act of love for God, a way to purify the mind, master the body, and strengthen the will — just as the Templars did and Saint Augustine taught. 💭 The Templars saw training and battle as part of their sacred mission. The body was an instrument in the service of faith: > “They do not fear death, for they live as if every battle were their last prayer.” For them, physical strength was inseparable from spiritual strength. Every exercise, every fight, was an act of faith, courage, and inner purity. 📜 Saint Augustine said: > “Take care of your body as if it were your servant, and of your soul as if it were your queen.” And also: “Discipline is the bridge between desire and accomplishment.” For him, self-control and mastery over passions were paths to God — and physical training, when done with spiritual intention, educates the soul through the discipline of the body. 🔥 So, to unite Jesus and physical exercise is to live as a spiritual warrior: – Train the body with humility and purpose; – Offer every effort to Christ as a sacrifice; – Become strong not only in muscle, but in spirit. 👉 In short: > “The Templars trained their bodies to defend the Faith. Saint Augustine trained his soul to love the Truth. To unite Jesus and physical exercise is to train both — body and soul — to serve God.”

Thanks, brother 🙏 What has helped me most is following what the saints taught — discipline, prayer, and sacrifice. Saint Augustine said: “Conquer yourself and the world will have no power over you.” And the Templars believed that training the body was also a way of preparing the soul for battle — not against flesh and blood, but against evil itself. Strength of spirit comes from prayer, the sacraments, and perseverance — the same virtues that build a warrior for God. ⚔️✝️

@Lyndsi Jones “The body is the servant of the soul, and the soul is the servant of God.” — Saint Augustine God created the whole person — body and soul — and saw that it was good. The body is not a burden but an instrument of grace. Yet since original sin, harmony between the two has become a battle: the body leans toward comfort and pleasure, while the soul longs for light and holiness. That is why the saints taught that to care for the body without neglecting the soul is virtue; but to care for the body while forgetting the soul is idolatry. Saint Augustine said the body should obey the soul as a soldier obeys his commander. Saint Thomas Aquinas affirmed that health and strength are gifts from God, for without them we cannot serve or pray with constancy. And Saint Francis de Sales reminded us: “Treat your body well so that it may faithfully serve your soul.” But the saints also warned: obsession with the body is a sign of vanity. The body is meant to be disciplined, not worshiped. Therefore, penance, work, and even physical training — when done in a spirit of faith — become prayer in motion. Saint Benedict called it ora et labora — pray and work — teaching that the discipline of the body strengthens the will and purifies the heart. Fasting, temperance, and exercise free the soul from excess and pride. Prayer, confession, and the Eucharist restore the soul’s divine direction. Today, when you take care of your body, remember: you are caring for the instrument God gave you to fulfill your mission. But let the mirror of your soul always be cleaner than the one that shows your face. > “The body passes away, the soul remains; but whatever is done with both out of love for God endures forever.” — Saint John of the Cross May the Holy Spirit teach you to balance strength with humility, discipline with contemplation, sweat with prayer — so that every effort of your body may become a silent hymn of love to the One who made you whole: body and soul.
