Small Success - It’s a Journey!
Got my index to 9.9 as of this AM. It’s the first time I reached a single digit in my life (it was likely lower as a kid, but I didn’t keep an index and then stepped away from golf in my mid 20’s for basically almost 25 years). And I see many areas for further improvement of course!!! 🤣 I think I really understand what Scottie meant when he said of his buddy with a 10 index not being a very good golfer - cuz that’s me - lots of room to improve!!! Started back with index at 25.5 in summer 2024 (August). Then, started lessons once per quarter with CB in March 2025 at around 19 / 18.5 index. I’ve had one set of range / short game lessons off course, and then the rest as on course playing lessons with Charlie every three months or so, and practice what I learn in between. Charlie has truly transformed how I approach this crazy game we all love and man, has it helped me a TON!! It’s a journey and I keep enjoying it - I look forward to keeping on the process working with this group!

Let’s go!!! What do you think contributed the most to lowering your cap?
USGA rules
I tried to google but found contradicting Info online so I’d rather post and get engagement points haha. Came up on the course just in casual conversation and my buddy and I both thought they changed the rules to allow you to ground a club in the bunker now. We googled to verify but that doesn’t look like the case. Are we thinking of something else?

Good question, turns out we were mixing up two different rules that both changed in 2019. The one that actually loosened up was for penalty areas (what used to be called water hazards). You can now ground your club in there and even take a practice swing no penalty. Bunkers are still the same old story though. You still can’t ground your club there. The 2019 update did let you touch/move loose impediments (rocks, leaves, etc.) and generally touch the sand with your hand or club, but you still can’t touch the sand on your practice swing, backswing, or right in front of/behind the ball before your shot.
How Points & Leveling Work in The Scoring Blueprint
Hey everyone! Now that Weeks 2-4 are live, wanted to break down how points and leveling work in the community — because they're not just for show. How you earn points: - Posting your homework/assignments - - Commenting and engaging on others' posts - - Getting likes on your posts and comments Why it matters: As you rack up points and level up, new weeks of the program unlock. So the more you show up, post your reps, and support other members, the faster you move through the full 30-Day Foundation. Check the Leaderboard tab to see where you stand and who's putting in the work. Coming soon: video walkthroughs for the core lessons (grip, setup, course management, practice structure, pre-shot routine, and more) to go alongside the written material. Written lessons are live now — no need to wait on those. Show up, post your work, help someone else improve. That's what levels you up here.
