Advice on slowing down mental game
Knowing Charlie hand selected everyone, I know you’re all fantastic people and looking forward to meeting/hearing from you. In life, I am wired to rush rush rush whether it’s responding to a work email, or hurrying up to pull into the parking space so I don’t inconvenience the people Waiting behind me 😂 This translates against my favor on the golf course, the voice inside my head tells me to hurry up but in reality, a slower metal tempo is when I play my best. I’m a fast player in general, but notice if I’m a twosome jammed between foursomes, and I’m forced to slow down, this is when I play my best. What I’m asking the group, anyone that battles/battled this, any advice on how to force yourself to slow down, take your time, not feel Rushed, etc.? Also extremely relevant many rounds the first couple holes as I try to settle in, or when you’re paired with a nightmarish slow group and you (erroneously) feel like you need to hurry to make up for their slow a$$es. Welcome any advice from anyone!

Summer Colorado golf trip - Keystone River. I went from full beard on day 1, to goatee, this was handlebar day, and wrapped up the last day with the obligatory porn stache. 98% of my life is clean shaven.

Welcome
Welcome to Charlie’s Skool 👊 This community is built around one idea:How to think like a pro — on the course and in life. We’ll be doing live calls weekly covering: - Golf instruction - Equipment & Q&A (Sawyer will be joining these) - Habits, discipline, and becoming a better human - Faith — grounded, optional, never forced This isn’t about motivation. It’s about structure, consistency, and showing up. If you’re new here, drop a quick intro below: - Where you’re from - Your golf goal right now - One thing you want to improve outside of golf Glad you’re here. Let’s get to work 🤝

Wsup all! Wisconsin native, lived in AZ for 10 years, on a flight to Hawaii as I wrote this (might miss the first intro call - huge bummer - but I’ll join from the resort if I can). The driver was my worst club - with Charlie’s help, it has been a miraculous change, I never thought I could become this consistent (relative statement). My main golf goal is to become a master with the wedges. It’s one of those things I “know” I can do, but definitely need help, knowledge and of course, work. I feel like I’m at a 4 out of 10 of my potential here.

Played competitive sports my entire life, late joiner in the golf world and looking to maximize my potential, whatever that is (or isn’t)
