OPERATION: Community Clean UP!
Hey everyone! I am so glad you are a part of this community and I want to make it even better. The goal is to create a space that you can feel safe, supported and able to learn in without crazy spammers, dropshippers or millionaires giving money away (what is that anyway??!?!) 😅 To be honest, I have been super frustrated with all the spammers in here. I was even on the fence about shutting it down altogether and starting over. But that is just RIDICULOUS - thank you @Harut Martirosyan for talking me off the proverbial ledge. 💖 INSTEAD this month/year I am going hard core OPERATION CLEAN UP!!🧹🧽🫧 We are going to remove spammers, non-youtubers. I am going to go back to application only - no more free for all. Going to protect this community like it's my baby! I don't want to throw away all the hard work, great connections and strong bonds we have made in here. I love and appreciate each and every one of you and truly enjoy interacting with you in the live calls and learning from each other. So I'm going to need your help if you are willing. Please whenever someone sends you a spam message from this community, let me know...and here's how to do that: 1) If it's a comment - place your cursor to the right of the comment you will see three dots, click on that and select "report to admins". Top right corner on mobile as well. 2) If it's in direct messages - same process three dots, please notify me of them before you block them. You can also block them so they do not bug you anymore. 3) You can also message me directly if you are unsure about them. The sooner I know the sooner we can make this community even more amazing. Thank you everyone! Let's make 2026 MIRACULOUS! 💥🎉💫🔥💖

Thank you @Alexa Saarenoja and @Dr. Saundra Stancil administrating a group of this size is a full time job. Thank you for your dilligence. I report every spammer to the admin and then I report the profile to SKOOOL. Same way as to an admin, on their profile page the three dots. Skool will ban them at the platform level. I run a small free group in the health field. Same as my YT channel . One trick I use to discourage spammers was to make participation mandatory before you could post or DM. Posting is allowed after you reach level 2 and DM is allowed after you reach level 3. Both can be set to level 3. Those are extremely low bars of participation but at least you have had to have some interaction to earn either 5 or 15 points before you can assault the community with DM's. Then like you I have a ZERO tolerance policy. Limiting immediate access to DM and posting doesn't stop comments but it does eliminate the unwanted DM's. Spammers are like home burglars, they look for the path of least resistance. A community where they have total access upon entry is an invitation to prey. They succeed with one vulnerable person replying the owners/admins need to be 100% accurate which is undue stress on the owner/admin. Thank you both and @Harut Martirosyan for fighting and not running. This is too great a service to let a few bad apples ruin the barrel.

@Dr. Saundra Stancil awesome, and Thank you for the kind words. I learned a lot about running a community watching the Skool News YouTubes where Sam Ovens and Kirby Andrews do a weekly update on everything NEW they have released to help owners and admins. As a group owner I can watch them in the Skoolers community but I prefer to watch them on the YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@skool-news LIve every Tuesday and then posted on YT for perpetuity.

My desire is to join some of them this year. We'll see if I am up that early? Will most likely be hit or miss. But it's a new year and anything is possible!
Mentor 🤔
Are there others here being offered a mentor...? Since I'm starting to feel a bit bombarded by members (if that's really what they are?). Who first seem to be interested in you, just to find out they where faking it to sell you something... or so it feels like! I have attached a screenshot so others here can see what this person wrote... 2 things in common is that when you go to their PROFILEs, they are always on stage 1 and they write almost the EXACT SAME PICH, odd...BEWARE!!!

The Skool platform will also ban problem members. Click on the person's profile then the 3 dot thing and report the profile as well. I joined Skool to get away from ads and spam. However the spammers quickly found easy prey.
$20k Earned In 4 Months!!
Four months ago, I was very close to quitting. Sleepless nights. Low views. Constant doubt. I kept asking myself if this was worth it. What saved me wasn’t motivation, it was clarity. Alexa’s @Alexa Saarenoja wisdom reminded me that progress starts quietly and that serving the audience matters more than chasing numbers. So I stayed. I focused on value and retention, not vanity metrics and everything changed. The roadmap that took me to $20K in 4 months: - Draftly for scripts, titles, tags, and descriptions - https://www.draftly.to - CapCut for fast, clean edits - https://www.capcut.com - ChatGPT (paid) for thumbnail ideas and hooks Once my AVD improved, the algorithm did the rest. This wasn’t luck. It was consistency and not quitting when quitting felt easy. If you’re tired, stuck, or doubting—stay.I recommend this roadmap to anyone starting out. Don’t quit. Your breakthrough is closer than you think.

I haven't read this entire thread but I am of the same philosophy as @Adam Burkia about randomly sharing my channel. I guess the channel wouldn't hurt but I only share videos with my target niche and then very selectively . I have read enough of the comments to see ugly comments directed at him because he doesn't openly share his channel. Come on people, can't we be civil in here? Who really cares if he claims a million subs and doesn't have them? Does it affect you or your channel? I don't know everything about the algorithm, but I do know it is able the find the people that it thinks will watch my channel. Yes, I'm a smaller channel and I am OK with totally organic growth. My thinking is IF someone is interested in what I discuss than YT will recommend my videos/chanel to them. I don't trumpet my success or failure with strangers, or even usually with friends. IF how adam is being accused is typical of this community, I will remain in the shadows.
Not sure I can continue this journey
I wasn't sure where to place this because I'm not sure if I'm looking for advice, feedback or an Okay to go ahead and let go of my channel. I have been struggling with grow, views, everything quite frankly with my channel since about May. I felt like I was finally on the turn around after many videos did well, at least well enough for me. I have been stuck in the under 100 views for months now. In October, I had a major surgery, took a break and worked on revamping my channel - creating a more stacked niche and was excited to get back to it. However, I am feeling frustrated and I don't know what to do at this point. This is 5 years on YouTube, and I didn't start to really pay attention, learning more about making videos until about 2 years ago. I finally reached 1K subscribers earlier in the summer, had a sponsored post in May and now I'm not sure what to do at this point. I also want to say I know that many have seen a huge decrease in views, etc. However, what really bothers me is I was only 5 hours away from being monetized, until it dropped off the hours and now back at almost 1K hours needed. I have enough videos filmed to finish out the year but I'm hoping anyone can offer some help, suggestions or advice. Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

It's not all or nothing @Joann Salas YouTube like life is a marathon, not a sprint. If it went well in the beginning everyone would do it. Why did you start YT? Have you achieved that goal? Maybe take a hiatus and return after the new year. There are many options between full time YT and shutting down the channel. Afterthought, views are very seasonal. They usually dip in the nicer months in the US and grow in the US winter as more people are inside. Digging into and understanding the trends will help you accept reality that has nothing to do with your performance.

@Shelina Virjee I believe that was directed to @Joann Salas as I mentioned nothing about taking a hiatus. Joann and I were discussing her dilema not mine. Truth be told you lose the hours you've earned at midnight of the 365th day after you earned them. Regardless of taking a hiatus or not since it's a rolling hours count.
