Gorgeous Riding Days: Totally "screwed"
HAHA... this sums up how my life has been going these past few weeks. HAHAHAHA (yes, I'm losing it) Snow melted, garage door fixed, gorgeous weather. I FINALLY get to ride! [womp, womp, wooommmmmmppp]

@Elad Best you're right Elad. Should I find myself on the shoulder I keep my speed low. And doing it at night is a bad idea.

@Robert Moeser even in my short time riding I have become more conservative and careful. I am glad I am learning this sooner rather than later.

I rode the Port Renfrew Loop yesterday.
Yesterday I rode the Port Renfrew Loop. It was between 14°C and 8°C, but the roads were dry and it was a great ride. Fast forward to waking up to snow this morning.

Even the best fails sometimes 😅
So I went to a great evening with one of my most favorite bands of all times (which their lead guitarist, which is also my biggest idol since i was a teen,is also a very good friend of mine, but that’s a story for other time 😁) and had an excellent time with them. Now at this point you may wonder - how is it even remotely related to motorcycles, and especially to fails (as the header says). So - once I’ve packed myself, I went to my motorcycle which was parked right near the entrance, geared up, hoped on, put it in gear, and…. Front wheel jammed, making me lose balance and slowly dropping the motorcycle on its side 🤦🏻♂️ In hindsight - I forgot I’ve added the disc lock on the right side (which was closer to the wall I’ve parked near) and it did what it supposed to do - lock the front brake… Fortunately I have crash bars so no damage at all to anything, and I was still on 0 kph, but my inflating jacket did went off, so goodbye 64$ for new gas cartridge for it 🥴 Note to self: always put the disc lock on the more visible side to the eyes…

I am on the fence regarding bike locks of any kind. Most of the time I don't have anywhere to chain the bike up, and a disc lock doesn't really help. It only takes two men and one pick up truck to steal my bike within a minute. Because of this I pick my parking spot carefully, and try to keep it as close to the entrance as possible, and try to keep it visible from where I'll be within the building (if possible). Either way, I am very careful leaving my bike parked and unattended, especially in dodgy areas.

What's your favorite DanDan saying?
What's your favorite thing you've learned from the Livestream with Dan? Like "Open lane pattern" (OLP), or "side of vehicle" (SOV). Give me your favorite, the one the little Dan on your shoulder when you're riding says in your ear?

For the most part I hear a lit of the phrases like "open lane pattern" or "side of the vehicle", but what I repeat like a mantra is "PLAN". Always positioning for safely, locating potential hazards, assessing relevant threats and navigating if needs be. Then I loop back to positioning and locating, essentially always in yellow or orange stage, always locating, assessing and positioning.

Looks like quite a decent camera system. I need to sort myself out with one soon. Also, turns out you have quite the mouth on you @Robert Moeser 😂 Won't lie though, I let the occasional bit of profanity out too when faced with idiots.

@Robert Moeser I have also been working on it the past few year. I think being on two wheels has taught me to chill on the roads.
