⌚ Time in Texture: Why the Details Define a Watch
Gents.. When you look at your watch - you don’t just see the time. You see the face, the strap, the polish, the grain. All those little details tell a story. This October in Watch Lover - we’re diving deep into texture, finish, material (the subtle elements that carry character). - That brushed case? It whispers “tool watch.” - The sunburst dial? It dances in light and adds movement. - A lined leather strap? It heightens presence on the wrist. - The crystal shape, edge knurling, and finishing - those are the touches that elevate. It’s easy to pick a watch that “looks good.” But when you understand its texture, its finishes, its material choices - that’s when passion ignites. 👉 Which textural detail on your watch do you get the most pleasure from - the dial, case finish, strap, or something else?

I have a simple Armatron watch that has a really brilliant blue face. It caught my eye in the store and I had to have it.
Cuervos Y sobrinos
Here is one of my favorite vintage pieces. From Havana Cuba in the 50s. When Cuba was still a destination hotspot for travelers there is a well known watchmaker: cuervos Y Sobrinos. As the story goes, this was a destination for many travelers. I read somewhere that Winston Churchill himself purchased a watch there. It seems most of their pieces were produced in Europe, and then their brand was added. When the communist took over in the late 50s, they closed the store, locked the safe, and left the country. Recently in another company began creating time pieces with the same name and the same design spirit as originals. They are beautiful pieces. You should check them out, so I do not own, but this one.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month with White Dial Wednesday
Wearing my Timex Indiglo and Rhobock cancer polo (gift from my wife when I completed my treatments). In 2025, 2,800 cases of male breast cancer are estimated to be diagnosed compared to 320,000 women. Don't be a hero. It's not wimpy to check for lumps or let your doctor know about weird growths on your chest. It's not always adult acne. If I had waited another 6 months, my stage III diagnosis may have been Stage IV. October 3rd is three years after my diagnosis. They are tracking the side effects of my medication because there's not enough data on male breast cancer patients. I keep telling the doc and researchers- patients need to join support groups that follow their interests, hobbies and addictions (I mean sweet tooth). You all are my best medicine - no joint pain, no aches, no fatigue, great dopamine and adrenaline hits. Thanks for all you do.

Great advice. I too am a cancer surviver only because it was diagnosed early. PS I like the watch as well.
