Waves plugins - renew coverage
Hey everyone! Is this common that you have to renew and pay for plug ins you have purchased from different providers? I’ve attached a photo of the Paz Analyser that we bought as part of Prod 101.

I see this too on mine. I spent $32 on the thing. I own it. I have not shelled out $12 more. Have you tried to use your PAZ?

@Rob Cooney I don't know if you knew about this or whether you are in Membership or TRE, but in Membership classes Dane prepared a list called "Tools of the Trade." It had all sorts of quality free plugins that they approved of and we had to buy the PAZ. It was like $32 at the link they provided. There was no talk at or before check out of time frame for the plugin. We bought it and owned it. I am guessing this is a new and improved version. I read that WAVES is notorious for not really calling their new versions ...new versions. I will try mine in a little while. I shall see if it is optional.
Anyone getting an ERROR 15 from WAVES?
I was going to check on something at the WAVES website but no matter what browser I try I get a white screen with essentially this message: ACCESS DENIED ERROR 15 www.waves.com This request was blocked by our security service. I also can't use any of my WAVES plugins on my DAW Studio One Pro 7. Says it can't ping the server to verify my credentials. Anyone else experiencing this? I looked the issue up and tried everything that the alleged Gurus said to do even turned off Windows Defender & Firewall to no avail. Don't worry all ... they are all back on now. The only thing I haven't tried is restarting my wireless modem. Sometimes after a power disruption it's security status or whatever get fuzzy. When this happens I can't connect to my STINGRAY music app. I restart the gateway and boom 💥 back in business. So I may try this in a bit this morning. Will update you on the findings if you care to know how it turns out. ************************** UPDATE: Restarting the T-Mobile Wireless Gateway solved the problem. I am into the WAVES website now. Success...!

@Gus Dikteruk Thanks Gus. No if you read a little further down ...rebooting my wireless T-Mobile Gateway did the trick as I suspected it would. Worth remembering if anyone gets this problem in the future from any plugin venders site.

How to create NI Installer Backups (Windows)
NI doesn't apparently allow you to directly download the installers for offline installation or backup. In the event that Native Access stops working as part of the insolvency situation, I wanted a way to be able to re-install the software I purchased in the future. After a bit of research and testing, I came up with a fairly simple way to create backups of all your NI installers. For me it's just NI and iZotope stuff. I assume anything that uses Native Access would work too. I was a software engineer for 40+ years so I am fairly confident these will work, but use at your own risk... These steps require using a command window to run the "icacls" command to modify the permissions on a folder. If you aren't comfortable using the command line, then perhaps you should try to find a Plan B. 0) You need to be logged into Windows using an account with Administrator privileges 1) Create a special folder to store your NI installers. The default is "C:\Users\Public\Downloads". I created an "NI" folder in my user's "Downloads" folder (C:\Users\garry\Downloads\NI) to ensure that I was the owner of the new folder without inherited permissions getting in the way. For the purposes of these instructions, I will refer to the folder as your "NI" folder. 2) Launch Native Access 3) Click on the Preferences link in the bottom left corner 4) Click on the File Management link 5) Change the Download Location folder to be your new "NI" folder At this point, Native Access will download the EXE/ZIP files to your new NI folder. The problem is that Native Access cleans up after itself and deletes the files it downloaded. Our next step is to prevent Native Access from cleaning up by removing the ability to delete files in that folder. 6) Click on the Windows Start menu icon and search for "cmd" 7) Click on the "Run As Administrator" link. A black command window will open. 8) Enter the following command to prevent anyone from deleting anything in that folder: icacls "C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\NI" /deny "Everyone:(OI)(CI)(DE,DC)"

I just stopped by the LINK. Didn't read it all ...is this hardware or software? I am a year into the in the box engineering game so a lot of this is still new despite my years of audio know how. I don't own any SSL Plugins either yet. I do love everything I see used that that make.
