Defense, decision making, shooting Thought process is, a team can have a million shooters but if you can play great d and make solid decisions you’re value goes up.

@Daniel Cooper oh man this is a good question. 1. Flashy finishes 2. Flashy dribbling but going nowhere 3. Being taught to strictly shoot 3’s instead of developing on all three levels

I would say the workout videos and implementing them in workouts. Also, just learning from everyone else’s experiences as a coach has been truly helpful. I don’t always have the answers but it’s nice to have a place of like minded people to help.

@Daniel Cooper teaching kids how to bump is huge. I hope this doesn’t come across wrong but I coach girls and they tend to not instinctually bump like boys. So learning your techniques and implementing them have been great.
Deposit paid ✅
This morning, I put my deposit down on gym rental. 7 dates. 2 hour slots. 25.00 an hour. Total ended up being 350.00. Well worth the investment to finish out my time in the Mid-South 🏀

You’re doing great things. Excited to see where you go.
This happened during training today...
The court was being used by some high school kids I had a session scheduled during that time, but they wouldn't get off the court... Instead of apologizing to the player and his dad and cancelling the workout, I adapted So, we worked on his sequencing by shooting the basketball against the wall. Also had him shoot it to me. We did this for 30 minutes until we could get on the court Great lesson for me to make the most of the environment and adapt!

Great job adapting in real time!
Gamifying Workouts
Last night I had a workout with my guy Tyler Perkins from Villanova. He's one of the best shooter's we work with The workout was simple: he had to make "3-in-a-rows" from various on the move, off the dribble, and catch and shoot 3s If he made 3 in a row, he got a win. Every time he didn't make 3 in a row, he got a loss It was first to 25 wins. He ended up losing 25-24 His focus was through the roof. The intensity and enjoyment of the workout was great Just a simple "gamifying" of the drill made it 10x better How do you gamify your workouts?

Even though we don’t have a shot clock I like to add a time constraint so they learn to remain calm under pressure.
