Monday Nugget: The Hardest Act of Love
Yesterday, I had to do the hardest act of love for my cat Mazel. She went to sleep quietly in my arms. One of the greatest gifts we can give our pets is a life filled with love. One of the hardest gifts we can give them is a peaceful goodbye. Euthanasia is a word that many pet parents dread, but it comes from Greek roots meaning "good death." When a pet is suffering, struggling to breathe, unable to enjoy life, or no longer finding comfort despite our best efforts, choosing to let them go can be the final act of compassion. Here's something many people don't realize: Pets don't measure life by the number of days they've lived. They measure it by moments, belly rubs, favorite treats, sunny spots on the floor, stolen snacks, car rides, and being near the people they love. They don't worry about tomorrow. They only know that you were there. If you've ever had to make this decision, please know that feeling grief, guilt, relief, sadness, and gratitude all at the same time is normal. Loving deeply means grieving deeply. And if your pet could speak after crossing the Rainbow Bridge, they probably wouldn't ask why you made the decision. They'd ask one question: "Who's going to share their sandwich with me now?" 🐾 Today, let's honor the pets who left paw prints on our hearts and changed our lives forever. RIP Mazel Simcha Hub of Pet Physiology Helping pet parents find understanding, hope, and empowerment through education. In loving memory of Mazel. ❤️ Mazel will go on the Pet Memorial Wall in the community today.

I know the pain. I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Mazel.
I need recommendations (advise) Pretty Please
I got a call that a kitten needs rescued. My husband and I are driving to go pick him up at 7:30. I don't know much about him other than he was found in a wooded park 2 days ago and nobody has claimed him. I have several photos of him, and I noticed right away his ears and his eyes. I have an appointment at my primary care Veterinarian on the 18th. My question is, should I take him to Emergency Vet this evening? Is there something that I can pick up to clean his ears until Thursday if it can wait? Many thanks in advance. PS: We are naming him Logan

@Cindy S. I knew Jordan had been sick, but I didn't realize just how much medical attention he had to have. I know how much you love your animals and my heart breaks for you. Logan may not know it yet, but he is one blessed kitty to have you take him in. I'm also putting eye drops in my oldest cats eyes, but it's only once per day. She has gotten used to it and doesn't fight me anymore. When I lost Indy, I swore I would not have another cat, but my daughters, especially my youngest, were constantly sending me images of cats/kittens needing homes. I finally told them they had to stop because I wasn't ready. My oldest stopped, but not my youngest. She sent me a picture of Moby which told the story of why he was up for adoption. His owner had to go to a nursing home due to mental issues. Moby (named Mr. Fluffy at the time) was a mix of Indy and the 13 year old gray cat that I had lost in 2013. It took me 3 years before I was ready to take in another cat. When my son & his family walked in holding this little stray kitten, I knew she was mine and that's how I got her. When I heard Moby's story, there was no way I couldn't take him in. I felt like we needed each other. I had no idea that he was a 21 lb cat until I went to pick him up. He's still just as big lol. Shortly after getting him, I found out that I had an allergy to cats (I think I've told you about that), but none of my cats are going anywhere, but they will be my last for that reason too.

Tornado Touch Down
We had a tornado touch down about a mile from where I live. I have intermittent internet service so I'm posting when I can from my cell. I slept through the damn thing. I hear it went right over me.

Oh wow! Being in a tornado is one of my biggest fears. I absolutely cannot sleep if we are under a watch and have my phone set to warn me during bad weather if it comes up during the night. I'm so happy you are okay and I pray that the weather has passed.
HACKED
I have been hacked. Flattered. The dumbass doesn't know their name and city is showing. Let me know if they message you.

A friend of mine got her Facebook hacked last night and she wasn't aware until I contacted her this morning to check on her after the bizarre message she sent me around midnight, which shocked me that she was up. Some people suck!
