What Do You Believe Is Actually Getting You Noticed On Skool? 👀
I've got a few thoughts on this, but I'm keeping my mouth shut for now! 😂 Vote first. We'll talk about it shortly.

I do all three but I think participating in other communities is super important. Lesson from @Des Dreckett
Where The Bloody Hell Is Everyone? 😂
You Can Lead People to an Event… But Can You Make the Buggers Turn Up? 😂 Well, that was the big question at today's Coffee, Chat & Collab! And rather amusingly, several people who voted to discuss getting people to show up didn't actually show up themselves. Oh, the irony! 🤣 We had a cracking conversation, though, with some very useful experiences shared. Chris apparently thinks 3 AM is a perfectly reasonable time to get up for an event but in fairness he is showing up for when his audience is around so he is showing up so his audience shows up. I can assure you, it isn't happening in my house 🫣 because me and 3am dont get along 😂 Chef Andrew shared how simply asking his community which times suited them made a difference to attendance. He also reminded us that an event with nobody watching isn't necessarily wasted. Record it, repurpose it and make something useful out of it. Great advice. Angela shared the frustration of promoting a free workshop everywhere, only to have one person turn up. Something I suspect quite a few event hosts can relate to! But she left feeling encouraged that despite that she is on the right track and to carry on because it does happen. And Rena talked about using scheduling tools to keep event promotion going without having to remember every single post. We also got into some of my favourite subjects: posting and ghosting, building genuine relationships, following up with interested people and actually giving your audience a reason to come. Because putting up one event post and hoping the entire population of Skool will suddenly appear is rather optimistic, don't you think? 😁 Then Chef Andrew introduced us to the wonderful idea of adding a little whimsy to what we do. He's talking about food, of course, but it applies beautifully to events. A bit of personality, something unexpected, a little humour. Stop making everything so terribly serious! We also talked about collaborations, featuring other community members, using short videos and why making friends across communities can be far more valuable than endlessly shouting about your next event.

Why people aren't turning up to your events (and the simple fix)
Hey everyone, I've been looking at my own stats and at what other members are doing, and one thing stands out for events and presentations. The people getting good turnout are posting about their event three times a week, and they start two weeks before the date. So if your event is on the 15th of October, your first post needs to go out on the 1st at the very latest. That gives you enough time to properly promote it, and honestly, that's what it takes if you want people to show up. Three times a week needs to happen in each of these places: - Your own community - Skool Events Daily (if you're in VIP, you can post your event there three times a week) - Skool Classifieds, which is a separate community from ours with around 2,100 members. Not all of them will see your event, but you can put it in front of a lot of people for very little effort, and it's free to post. If you're running more than one event, that's even better, because you're promoting each of them across all three places. One more thing. Don't post your event and then disappear. Before you post, have a look at what other members have shared and leave a comment on a few of them. That's how Skool Events Daily has grown, because members support each other, and it's how I've grown my communities too. If you comment on other people's events, they'll do the same for you. If you're struggling to get people into your events right now, check whether you're actually doing this. In most cases, the promotion just isn't happening often enough or early enough. Any questions? Tomorrow: Structure Your Talk for Impact
This is happening tomorrow, hosted by @Vasi Smith in the Thrive Community. I hope to see you there! You can join here ========================================== A Masterclass with Speaking Coach Chris Hanlon If you want your talk to be accessible and memorable, you need to put some time into how you structure it. In this Speak Well chat, Chris will talk about the processes, tools and resources he uses for structuring talks. September 29, 4pm MT/6pm Eastern Chris has coached over 100 TEDx speakers over the past decade. First for TEDxRuakura and more recently for TEDxUoWaikato, where 20% of the speakers have been chosen for TED's Editors Choice, something that is allocated to just 6% of the speakers that speak at TEDx events around the world. In addition to TEDx, Chris has also helped numerous speakers and business owners (and even one politician) with their presentations and talks. He has also helped over 50 startup founders to craft and deliver their investment pitches through a local startup accelerator.

The Secret Is Out… You Have 48 Hours to Grab VIP at $9 — We’re on the WWW! 🌎
Okay people… it’s time. I promised you an announcement, Des has given me the green light, and I have been BURSTING to show you what we’ve been building behind the scenes. 🥁🥁🥁 SKOOL EVENTS DAILY IS OFFICIALLY ONLINE! 🎉 Yep. We’ve gone and got ourselves a proper website. And I have to say… it’s looking rather fabulous. 😍 We’ve just massively upgraded what VIP gets you — and you’ve got 48 hours to get it at the old price. Your events are already there, and people can now find them by Today, This Week, Upcoming Events, category and even by host. We’ve brought over From Heather’s Desk, Experts Corner, Editor’s Picks, our Partners, and we’ve got more coming too — including our Collaboration Station. 👉 LINK TO THE NEW SKOOL EVENTS DAILY WEBSITE HERE And possibly one of my favourite bits… NO MORE FORMS! 🙌 VIP members can use the Magic Button to send us their event straight from their calendar. I press a few of my own magic buttons at this end and — hey presto — your event appears on the website. People can click into your event, find out more and go straight through to join or register. Now, here comes the important bit… ⏰ YOU HAVE 48 HOURS. VIP is currently $9 a month. In 48 hours, it goes up to $12 a month. And yes… at some point it may well go up again. So if you’ve been sitting on the fence wondering whether to become a VIP, I’d suggest the fence is becoming a rather expensive place to sit. 😂 👉 UPGRADE TO VIP HERE Only VIP members can submit and promote their events through Skool Events Daily. BUT the website itself is open for everyone to browse, discover events and attend them. Which means your events are no longer just sitting inside our community or tucked away in the Weekly Bulletin. We now have another way of getting them seen, found and shared much further afield. We’re still polishing things, tweaking things and probably pressing the occasional button we shouldn’t 😂 — but it’s live, it’s working and your events are already there.
