Cooling Vest
Standing on the back of the boat in extreme heat can be torture for a steerer. Has anyone ever worn a cooling vest? Do they work?

@Cory Graham I use a cooling towel and ice packs right now but on days when it's 90 degrees out my body has a hard time with the heat. I avoid jumping in the water because of how smelly our water is. Putting my feet in makes it slippery for me. I know team USA sailing wears them so I was thinking of getting one. They are a bit pricey though. https://www.orosportsusa.com/collections

@Liisa Reimann I was thinking about that also, but they are designed to be worn by sailing teams so I am thinking that the designer had to take that into consideration.

Season so far?

We had our 1st practice yesterday and it went well. Unfortunately the start of our season was delayed this year due to weather. We have only 4 weeks until our 1st race. Let's hope we will be ready.

We originally started this community as a steering hub, but both Joann and I also love coaching paddlers and developing new coaches.
