On the subject of Improv
Okay so who is up for a little challenge? All levels. Wherever you are you can try this. Just learn the "natural" notes on the B string. That's the white key notes on a piano. No sharps (#'s) No flats (♭'s). Just BC D EF G A BC ... Any fingers, no hidden trip lines... just the B string 🤘😎 Good luck

@Jonathan Rothenberg not sure about this 1. Do you mean play all the triads in the scale of A minor going up the fretboard? So the I IV and V are minor?

@Jonathan Rothenberg ah OK, cheers
Thanks Jon x
Well Jon, a big thank you to you. I finally achieved what I set out to do. I joined your club just after Covid to improve my confidence and be able to jam with total strangers off the cuff and this weekend I achieved it. It also received a positive response, much to my relief, so thank you for all the time and effort you invest in us. 😘

Fret School Club YouYube Channel started
I'm still here... I just posted the first of weekly videos to be posted on the Fret School Club Youtube channel. Some of you can use these as mini courses if you use the timestamps and link libraries in the description section of the video to see related videos. For you more advanced guys you may want to look at : the beginning voice leading example https://youtu.be/1cozgsaU_WE (Years of Theory in 20 min) or the drop2 voicing exercise (3 Shapes all Chords All Keys ) https://youtu.be/8bAn72bPflk Let me know your thoughts about monthly live online meetings Still kicking 😅

Very well explained Jon
Voice leading
So how about a demo video with some ideas about voice leading like we were doing last night? I got the gist of it and want to start playing around with it and experimenting.

As an example play a 1 6 2 5 all as arpeggios but rotate through sus 2, major or minor 3rd then sus 4 of each chord before you go to the next chord, finding the closest place on the fretboard as possible to play the next chord, work your way up the neck. The 1 I tried was C Am Dm G using triads on DGB strings only. I'm sure there are lots of other ways to approach it as well. You're basically walking 1 of the notes of the chord gradually towards the next chord. Probably someone can give a better explanation.

Desert Island Guitar
Ok so as a bit of fun here’s a question If you could only take 1 guitar to a desert island what would it be? It could be your dream guitar or one you love playing, in fact anything PS there’s a solar panel on the island so you can take an Amp as well PPS don’t worry about the sand it’s a rocky island!!!!!
