Yesterday during the Cohort 3 Q&A we had a fascinating discussion about dopamine, procrastination, sleep, focus, social media, Netflix binges, gaming, and why we sometimes struggle to do the things we actually want to do. Multiple members shared that when they reduce the constant stimulation for a few days, they: - Sleep better - Feel calmer - Focus easier - Stop procrastinating as much - Feel more connected to themselves So I'm considering organizing a 3-Day Dopamine Detox Challenge for the ADHD Harmony community. We'd check in together each day and share wins, struggles, insights, and what changes when the noise disappears. I'm curious... Who would actually join? Let me know in the comments. I'm in! Hardest part for me? I am addicted to learning and accumulating information on the topics of psychology, health, architecture, art, business...and so on (I'm sure I qualify as an information hoarder). I love to learn new things, but it crosses a line into procrastination and avoidance -- and yet, I convince myself that it's a productive use of my time. Sure, but I'm not doing what I should be doing. 😁

Hi, I’m Cherie and I’m from northern Wisconsin. My husband and I own an auto repair shop and I also work as a data annotator for AI. I am late diagnosed. I managed to function fairly well when I was younger but the ADHD has gotten so much worse with age and it seems like it takes everything I have just to keep up with the basics each day. I want to change that and that’s why I’m here. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone.

@MΓ‘ire Garvey Hi there! As an AI annotator, I train AI to improve how it responds to queries. I make sure responses match a specific set of rubrics. Sometimes the task includes testing AI models with trick questions to see if it will come up with an inappropriate response and then correcting it. Some projects are very complex and apply to a specific profession which for me is accounting. I'm training the models to do complex accounting tasks.

@Linda Trup Hi Linda, nice to meet you! Yep, age has definitely made ADHD so much more difficult, it hit me like a ton of bricks. That said, at least with that having happened, I did learn what I'd been struggling with all my life.
