Selling Hot food
Hey guys, I currently have a cake shed but looking to start sausage rolls/bread. How do I go about this? Thinking of making everything fresh that morning/ maybe freezing sausage rolls before baking and baking the morning of opening, and selling in insulated hot bags? And brown paper bags for bread loaves? Will talk to EHO but wanted to see what everyone else thought

@Georgia Crook oh 100% and markets do it. Im pretty sure you can aslong as doesnt exceed 4 hours. Not sure how or if you need to show how you monitor it xx

I’d love to start doing postals, what do I need to start? Do I need a website? I already pay for a domain for my email. I have so many ideas but I don’t want to put everything out there and not have any orders like my tasting boxes🙈

Post with royal mail next day delivery Need to have labels on package stating contains food. Website wise if you didnt want to pay for website just yet maybe trial it on your social media first xx

My vanilla cake comes out with a perfect flat top but my chocolate cake domes at the top. How do I stop this??

My chocolate cakes dome aswell. Ive now started cooking on a lower temp and reducing the amount of baking powder/bicarb ever so slightly x

Hi everyone! I’m currently reviewing my ingredients and suppliers to try and stay cost-effective while still maintaining good quality in my bakes. I’d really appreciate any recommendations for reliable, good-quality suppliers you use. At the moment I’m using: - Flour – Aldi - Butter – Farmfoods (usually their bulk deals) - Vanilla – Tesco (Nielsen-Massey, as I find the quality much better) - Eggs – Aldi - Icing Sugar - Aldi or Lidl but really looking to change this I’m open to switching things up if there are better options out there! Thank you 💕

I do a mixture, mainly Tescos as its my main supermarket. But if you want to buy larger or in bulk Costco and Bookers are brilliant x
