What is Your Experience with YouTube Shorts? 🤔💭 Short vs Long🥊
Hey there ~ I stopped 🛑 posting YouTube Shorts last year due to the mixed messages by "The Gurus" and others who say shorts have potential to hurt your channel. On one hand, they can bring in MANY subs and once you have their attention, you can hopefully get them to click a relatable long-form video (highly unlikely though). Most don't want to watch long-form content, they are just there for a "quick fix." 😏 Shorts tend to bring in a TOTALLY different audience. Apparently, shorts can bring down the engagement on your long-form content, so much so, that many creators have taken all of their shorts off their MAIN channel and created a channel that is solely dedicated to SHORTS. 🤷🏽♀️ I've been sticking with long form content and putting my time and energy in this direction and have noticed slow but steady growth. However, I have an event coming up that I am promoting and thought short form content would be a quick and easy way to grab attention and raise awareness. 🙋🏽♀️ Wondering if I should upload to the Shorts feed or just post the video clips on IG Reels and TikTok and drive traffic that way so that I don't kill the momentum and trust that I'm building with my audience. 🤓 @Alexa Saarenoja what are your thoughts around this. I'd love for you to chime in when you have a sec!
