When I was deciding between booth rental and commission I wish there was a class on 1: how to achieve ALL of the licenses needed to be booth rental vs commission. 2: business education on how to understand your numbers as a booth renter, what money you’re losing out on and where and how can you profit from certain things? In commission same thing? 3: business acumen on selling products? I feel like if I had more education on these things it would’ve really helped me understand the different sides of the business and where I would fit best for my need and wants. :)

Coming from someone who was originally booth rent, and now is commission. It’s a huge factor whether or not you get foot traffic, have a website, on google maps, environment! When I made the change from independent to commission the biggest things I looked for were, Education; do they offer it? Do they want you to be continually educating yourself? Can you get involved in being an educator? Hair is ALWAYS evolving and trends are ever changing! Education is so so so important. The second thing I looked for was Mentorship; can I ask questions and feel heard and not “talked at”, is someone going to give me pointers or tips on how to be better at something? I want to be amazing at my job, I don’t want to just settle for the basic education I got in school and be stuck with that. The other thing I wanted to get a feel for was environment! Environment; having a space where you feel loved, supported, confident, smart, and truly (like actually) get along with your coworkers is SOO important on your mental health, your work health, your home life, this effects how you feel about your job 100%!!

My world has completely changed after seeing this!! This is awesome!!
