📝 Vivid s Advice
Remember when you have block coloring specifically with high contrast colors: 1) rinse on cold 2) shampoo separately 3) condition separately if possible 4) color seal with some kind of acidic treatment *it closed the cuticle =less color bleed 5 ) try not to let the sections touch until they’re dry

@Sydney Garr yassss. This is such a good stage to be in and you have to figure out how to stay here by reigniting and keeping excitement for getting to know people. Push pushing through challenges and pursuing your original goal.
👉 Answer the one that fits you best:
🎓 If you’re a student: • One thing you’re excited about learning • OR one thing that feels confusing or intimidating right now ✂️ If you’re a newer stylist: • One thing you wish beauty school had prepared you more for • OR one thing you learned the hard way your first year ✨ No wrong answers. No pressure to “sound smart.” This is a safe space to ask, share, and support. ⬇️ Drop your response below and if you see someone you can help, reply to them 🤍 (Students: yes, it’s okay to speak up. We want you here.)

@Sydney Garr I totally hear this! I won’t say it will go away completely, but it does start to get better and confidence comes from systems and communication. Doing a really thorough consultation is a huge part of it as that’s where I find most people’s complaints come from is a lack and understanding from the beginning. Also, when you’re new people are already looking for you to make mistakes, including yourself. When you’ve drowned yourself in so much education that you know things inside and out things will start to click or you’ll start to see patterns and what works and what doesn’t. But until then fail forward my friend.

@Makai Tschida making sure you utilize your school time is going to be a huge part of feeling successful faster. It’s so tempting to hang out with your friends and just kind of relax when you’re nervous. Instead, I challenge you to take every haircut and if you aren’t with a client, ask if you can shadow someone. Take out that mannequin head and practice practice practice . There’s more than one way to cut a bob there’s more than one way to cut every type of haircut. You’ll find one that fits you and you’ll start seeing what you’re most comfortable with. Don’t forget to start posting pictures of before and after work in the community and we can always help guide you in better approaches.
