i don’t have a before but i do have an after. my client saw a lot of warmth in her money pieces and throughout her hair so i focused on looking at charts to try and formulate a toner that will make her cooler without turning silver. That was most challenging to me as i am fairly new to color and toners still but i ended up coming up with a 10 N (1.5 oz) + 9V (0.5oz) of redken and achieved my goal! that was very rewarding!
ā˜€ļø Sunday Share ā˜€ļø
Before we jump into another busy week behind the chair, I wanted to check in with you, friend. This industry can move FAST. Sometimes we’re so focused on the next client, the next goal, the next thing we need to learn that we forget to stop and reflect on how far we’ve already come. So this week’s Sunday Share is simple: šŸ’ What’s one thing this week taught you? Maybe it was a lesson from a difficult client.Maybe you finally nailed a technique you’ve been struggling with.Maybe you learned something about yourself, your business, or your confidence. I’ll go first in the comments! Drop your answer below and let’s celebrate the wins, lessons, and even the struggles together. You never know who needs to hear exactly what you’ve learned this week.

these past few weeks have shown me that so many different stylists have different techniques and even though they work for one, they won’t work for everyone so finding a technique for anything that makes sense and works for me requires testing and trying. But also realizing that not everything comes at once and all of a sudden you’re good at it. I can compare myself to students who are farther along or instructors because everyone struggles with something.
šŸ›ļøWHAT WOULD YOU DO WEDNESDAY šŸ›ļø
A client says:ā€œI’ll just buy it on Amazon.ā€ How do you respond without sounding pushy? Stylists , drop your BEST retail response šŸ‘‡

I would go about it in a fastest in hand way. If they really liked the product, I would explain that it is an option but if they were to buy it from you, they are leaving with the product in hand, no wait. I’ve noticed that grabs people’s attention best. And then explain that with getting the product from you, it’s not only fastest in hand but it’s also supporting you and investing in you and your work! They also know that the product is 100% guaranteed to be exactly as i’ve described, nothing else is possibly hidden in it like it could be on amazon.
🚨 WHAT WOULD YOU DO WEDNESDAY 🚨
A client messages you at 10PM saying: ā€œHey girl šŸ’• can you squeeze me in tomorrow? I forgot I have photos this weekend.ā€ You’re already fully booked. šŸ‘‡ What would YOU do? - squeeze them in? - offer another stylist? - put them on a cancellation list? - protect your boundaries? No wrong answers — let’s talk about it

i think the question i would have would be what they want because if it’s just a wash and style, i could see if i could fit them in but if it’s anything more, i would put them on a cancellation list or offer another stylist in the salon and explain that i have a fully booked day and i can’t rush or hurry through others services who are already booked in a professional way

@April Allen exactly my thought process but i feel like im going into it as a baby stylist mindset and trying to get as many people in my chair as possible if i have space
First ever hair color !!
Hey everyone ! I just did my first ever all of color while in school! The first photo is what we started with, the second is what we had to fill her hair with to give the blonde some color for the all over color to stick to. And the last two photos are the ending results! I would love any and all feedback of what i could’ve done better or tips and tricks for next time ! Fill formula: Shades EQ 7C (0.5) + 7N (0.5) All over formula: 5M (1.5) + 5N (0.5) 10v with a remix!
First ever hair color !!
