I can’t decide on my colours/yarns.
Two sets of colour combos pictured. Knitted these single strand, so it’s not to gauge (most will need doubled or will be combined with a lace weight/kidsilk for gauge). First Group: I have enough grey (Yarn Collective Fleurville 4 Ply), cream (hand spun 2 ply), and burgundy tweed (Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal) for them to be A or C. Grey and cream would be doubled with themselves, burgundy would probably be with a strand or 2 of kidsild haze, but maybe with itself. I have enough Rose (also Fleurville 4-ply) or mottled ‘tundra’ (Socknado Fingering) for either of them to be B or maybe D, but it would definitely be yarn chicken for them to be D. Rose would be doubled with itself. Tundra mottled would be doubled with the light gray. Second Group: Blue Tweed (Debbie Bliss Donegal luxury Tweed Aran) as A, Gold Tweed (Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal) with 1 strand kidsilk haze as B (I also had an orange in there, but I’m not sure I like it when knitted up), Burgundy Fine Donegal Tweed doubled or with kidsilk haze as C. I could add a Teal (Rowan cashsoft) in there for D, but not sure. I was originally thinking of going with the first combination of combo 1 - A grey, B rose and C cream. After knitting them up, it is a very pretty combo. But I am really liking combo 4 - A Grey, B Tundra + Grey, C Burgundy. Could maybe combine a deeper/darker grey with a strand of A grey for D. But is the mottled B distinct enough from A and C, since it has sections of both in it? The Blue grouping is fun too. But A and C are very similar intensities in greyscale. Another option, I just thought of as I was writing this is Grey A, gold B, Burgundy C with Tundra as D or combined with one strand of A for neckline down, or increasing intensity towards the bottom or something (maybe that’s what D is anyway?!?). Might knit that up and see what it’s like. I’d appreciate thought/feedback. On yarn choice as well as colours. This is my first time doing colour work/ stranded knitting other than some Christmas stockings many years ago. Would I be better off buying the correct weight yarns instead of combining and dealing with extra multi-strands on top of the multi strands of the pattern?

The Mystery Yokealong is back!
Our Mystery KAL is officially back for year three! We’re knitting a top-down round yoke sweater (or a steeked cardigan) together over seven weekly clues, kicking off on January 16th. This year, we’re leaning into stash-busting, so feel free to start hunting through your yarn collection now. You can get all the details on the Ravelry pattern page or here on Skool in the dedicated Classroom where I’ll also be posting all the relevant video tutorials as clues become available. We’d love for you to jump in and share your yarn picks, questions, and progress photos. Just use the "MYAL 2026" category for your posts. Heads up: we aren’t doing spoiler alerts this time, so feel free to post away in whatever way you like just as long as it is in that category! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year.

@Heather Bloom I was wondering if tweed-y yarns would work for this. Thank you for posting them - gives me way more options from my stash than I had thought :). Apparently I like the ‘tweed’ yarns 😂

Hi! I’ve joined because I’ve been following your posts for a while and love the idea of the yolkalong. I’m new to colour work, so this will be an interesting challenge!
