How do you decide whether a perfume smells “age-appropriate” for someone? I tend not to treat age as a hard rule. I look at the style of the fragrance and how it tends to read on a person, then consider the setting and the person's taste. What do you guys think? And what are good examples for the different ages?

I love the JPG Le Male DNA, and since Elixir is a little loud for the office in my opinion, I tried the “gentleman’s” version for a few days. I do like this take on it, and I appreciate it being a lot more understated and sophisticated, but it doesn’t grab me enough. I don’t find myself being drawn to or looking forward to smelling it the way I’d like to be. Overall a very good, smooth scent that feels grown up and familiar, but I think I’d rather spend my money elsewhere at the moment.

Own a mini sprayer of this one and decided to wear it today since yesterday I wore Paradigme EDP and the community say they are similar. For me this one is obviously more floral than Paradigme because of the Orange Blossom but Paradigme is more cleaner and woodier. Surprisingly MYSLF lasted more on skin than yesterday’s Paradigme and I did same amount of sprays. Paradigme has more character because of its cleanness and woodsiness, both are good fragrance and easy to wear, very versatile for daytime.

It get compared to “Emporio Armani Stronger With You Sandalwood & Omanluxury Caden.) It opens with a very exotic, leathery, sweet/salty/creamy butterscotch and ground coffee aroma. (For some reason this blend reminds me a bit the Dior Homme Intense (iris) opening. I compared them and they have some resemblances.) Fairly quickly, all that opening tones down giving space to a subtle and fresh pineapple to states its presence. As it dries down the woody and vanillic nuances rounds the scent while keeping the butterscotch and the leathery saffron as the backbone. This scent has been described as a coffee centered fragrance, but I totally disagree. The coffee here it’s just an aleatory accord that helps to bring some earthy nuances for a long lasting effect. The magic of this fragrance starts to happen while getting to dry down. This is a very underrated, easy to wear, sophisticated, quite unique, very intoxicating fragrance, ideal for cooler weather, any occasion, with great projection and longevity.

A fresh out of the box wearing of a newer Swiss Arabian scent, Shaghaf Amber Infusion. I didn't read the note list at first. I had a shower and sprayed it on without any real idea what to expect. At first I thought it was Drakkar Noir with a fruity top, but once it settled and my nose adjusted i got fruit / leather / amber / cardamom. This is a strong frag. Not as powerful as Shaghaf Oud, but its definitely potent. The apricot, apple and vanilla sweetness is a unique blend to me. I like it. Normally I don't like smokey scents but I enjoy the smokey aspects of the frankincense here. Its not blowing me away, but theres nothing wrong here either. Im giving it a 7/10 for a first wearing and i expect that i will like it more with time.
