Wolf Creek Opening Positions
Just got word that Wolf Creek will be looking for two in house (permanent) positions and 3 contracting positions very soon. The 3 contracting positions are for Junior RP's and will last till October 1st, ending with a dry fuel campaign. My guess is they will keep the contractors on until and throughout their spring outage which starts next spring. Very long project either way. Pay will be $36 an hour and $155 per diem per day (the non taxable living expenses). I'll keep you guys updated when it goes live for whoever is interested and qualifies. That being Junior or Senior RP's.

Thanks for that new bit of info!
Got the offer letter for Jr. Decon
While Joey was the first recruiter I spoke with, I haven't been able to reach him again. I was able to speak with Tricia on her direct line multiple times in the past few weeks and received the offer letter today. Thanks to her I will be working Brunswick and McGuire back to back around the start of Feb as decon, hopefully working my way towards Jr. RP Tech. Yes, keep calling the recruiters, they're crazy busy and it can take a large amount of calls (I called multiple times a day) but thank them for taking your call when they get a chance to do so. @Michael Williams thanks for getting me started on this new chapter in my life, this all started when I read your reddit post a while ago.

I got an email from Tricia the 14th that there aren't any entry level positions available anymore. Don't want to discourage anyone but thats the latest info I have. I'm gonna try for the fall.
What fields have you come from?
This industry seems to cast a wide net and gather people from drastically different backgrounds. I've worked with people who worked as professional chefs, truck drivers, engineers, diesel mechanics, and just about any of the trades I can think of. I'm curious where everyone here is coming from and what they've experienced in their careers before looking to nuclear. So what has your path looked like so far?

I'm in industrial robotics installations. We do everything from retrofits to ground up installs. Before that I was a commercial carpenter.

@Ethan Rosbury I have definitely tried to keep it interesting over the years. The biggest draw for me is the stability and the potential time off in the off season. Plus its sonething new and interesting.
