🇺🇸 English Expressions: Rip Someone Off 💸
Hey everyone! 👋 Today’s expression is “rip someone off.” 👉 It means to cheat or scam someone, usually by charging too much or giving a bad deal. If someone rips you off, you lose money or get tricked. 😤 Origin: This phrase comes from informal American English in the early 20th century. “Rip” in slang can mean to tear or grab, so “rip off” literally suggests taking something unfairly — usually money. Over time, it became a common way to describe fraud, scams, or overcharging. 🏦 Examples: • That shop really ripped me off — the shoes were overpriced! 👟 • He felt ripped off after paying for a movie ticket that never worked. 🎟️ • Don’t let anyone rip you off when buying a used car. 🚗 Now it’s your turn! 💬 Drop your own sentence using “rip someone off” below 👇 WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER! 🤝

Occasionally I get messages from people who tell me that I’m trying to rip them off. It used to bother me very much—it’s so not true. Now I simply rip their name off my list of “English family” and continue doing my best to help people master English!!!
What we miss while we Rush.
Isn’t it sad and ironic that people live their live so quickly, always in a hurry, and as a result they fail to notice the beauty and the hidden miracles of nature and the universe around them? Isn’t it sad to go through life without ever noticing or understanding the simple beauty and hidden wonders of this universe? Maybe, if we slow down just a little, we can start to notice what we’ve been missing all along.

This is one reason I love watching video blogs by @Jenny Yu and @Taisei Koshida They are able to slow everything down. They live very busy lives, but they are able to slow down and enjoy the moment. Valuable 👍🏻👍🏻 @Amal Ta

Something about vocal variety . I don’t think my vocal has much variety. 😄 As plain as water
