@Erick Tai as would I. I recently revisited a fragrant that I bought out of Neiman’s from Estée Lauder, Amber musk by Erin in which I own that the sales person put on me to test on my skin and to tell you the truth, it is a feminine fragrance, but it does not come off feminine on me

Perfume Classifications and where the lines Blur!!!
Perfume houses are generally classified based on their brand identity, production scale, target audience, and distribution channels. The main categories are Designer, Niche, Indie, and sometimes an overarching "Luxury" tier, though the lines between these categories have blurred significantly in recent years. Here are the primary classifications of perfume houses: - Designer: These fragrances are produced by major fashion houses (e.g., Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Prada) as an extension of their main brand portfolio.Focus: Designer scents aim for mass-market appeal and are often trend-driven, versatile, and easy to like. They are developed to be crowd-pleasers with broad demographic appeal and availability: They are mass-produced and widely available in department stores, beauty retailers like Sephora, and online shops. Marketing: These brands rely on large marketing budgets, glossy advertising campaigns, and celebrity endorsements. Price: Generally more affordable than niche options due to economies of scale in production. - Niche: Niche houses focus primarily, or solely, on the art of perfumery itself, rather than being part of a larger fashion or lifestyle brand.Focus: Niche brands emphasize creativity, artistry, complexity, and unique scent profiles that might not appeal to everyone but are treasured by enthusiasts. They often use higher-quality, rarer, or unconventional ingredients. Availability: Historically, they were available only in specialized boutiques or high-end perfumeries, making them more exclusive. However, many have been acquired by large corporations (like LVMH or Estée Lauder) and are now found in major department stores alongside designer brands. Marketing often relies more on word-of-mouth and the story behind the scent than mass advertising. Price: Niche fragrances typically have a higher price point due to limited production, artisanal methods, and premium ingredients. - Indie (Independent): Indie houses are a subcategory of niche that are smaller and truly independently owned, often with the founder or a single perfumer (nose) responsible for the creations.Focus: They represent the most artistic and experimental end of the spectrum, with maximum creative freedom and limited commercial pressure.Availability: These are the most exclusive in distribution, often sold only directly from their website or a handful of specialized online retailers.Price: Prices can vary widely but are often premium, reflecting the small scale of production and ingredient cost. - Luxury/Artisan: These terms often overlap with high-end niche or exclusive designer lines. "Artisan" generally implies products that are handcrafted in-house in smaller batches, while "luxury" points to the highest tier of price, exclusivity, and ingredient quality (e.g., Clive Christian or exclusive lines like Dior Privée).

@Erick Tai actually 99% of the clone houses already have their own inspired versions or actually their own Fragrances. Now, if you have ever been to the Middle East, those big clone houses like Armaf and fragrance world and Latifaffa have large stores, retail stores and large factories. I have seen the stores in person and I would say about 90% of their inventory. Maybe even a little higher is original stuff that the people. in the region are those in the know buy. Most of these houses have been in existence minimum 20 years some over 50 years and a few over 100 years besides fragrance has been around the Middle East forever what we see here are the Fragrances from those houses that are catered towards western influences. Unless you specifically research those brands, you would not know that they have more unique stuff than they do have clones, but marketing dictates that they sell the clones here in the USA for the money.
Sotd ATH Supersonic
The more I wear this one the more I appreciate it, but it's still a "like" for me vs a "love". It'll get some more wears this week, with some heavier sprays. Notes are Citrus, Ambroxan, Apple, Pineapple, Vetiver, Patchouli and Musk. (Aventus dna). It goes on supremely fresh and aromatic, with a fruity, citrus blast, rounded out with oakmoss & musk, that smells woody to my nose. Moderate projection and sillage for the first couple of hours. Citrus burns off after an hour, and the woody, oakmossy nature begins to take over, with a touch of sweetness lingering. At 2 hours, I get an aromatic, clean, woody, oakmossy scent, with steady, moderate to mild sillage. Vetiver and musk are listed, and must be blending into the overall scent. I'm also catching little whiffs of something tart, that reminds of grapefruit, but it's fleeting. Mild sillage to the 5 hr mark, then a skin scent for hours more.

@Joel Keefer icon was part of the spring equinox collection and it is not discontinued. If you were trying to buy it at Max Aroma they don’t get everything in it trickles in from time to time which it has gotten better with ATH deliveries I had bought my second bottle, not too long ago from ATH when I did a group bye on this one I also bought Odyssey plus which is also wasn’t available on Maxon site, but I got it from England because I did another group buy
Electimuss Discovery Set
I tried a few Electimuss frags last month when I was at @Lon Chaneyfield 's place, but I knew I had to do more research. For once, I decided not to blind-buy a random bottle and I got this discovery set for about $72 at fragrance.com. I kept hearing varying reviews so I thought this was my best option. I'll keep you posted if I find anything that really rocks my boat.

Well, I carefully picked out the nine of them that I really liked after having the discovery set as well didn’t go through the whole discovery set which is funny considering there are other others that I keep thinking about buying without even trying it even though I have it in a discovery set. The one that wasn’t in the discovery set that I really loved and I bought is.Astrum Nova and the new one reverie, which was just released. I am going to try to find a decant or a sample of that as well and wait for the price to drop and possibly order that as these things go through the discounters.
