I was in Colorado, living in my brother's trailer. I was promoting a program that taught people how to put together a business plan that would get investors to purchase a Lamborghini that could be used as a real fancy billboard to sell real estate education. To this day, I still think the whole concept was very cool and the numbers were insane. One guy who went through the $20 training made it work, investors bought him a Lamborghini, he wrapped it and brought it to a car show where he got 900 hand written leads in a weekend.
Tally: Who has run an auction?
As Community FIRE Mojo grows… (We’re at 740 members now!) I want to connect community owners with Ronin. About 40% of members ALREADY have a community. Please comment 👇 if you’ve run at least one auction. BONUS: Please share any results you can. Thanks in advance! Rooting for Ya, Travis PS I am going put the comments into a Google Sheet for my reference when I’m looking to connect a Ronin to a Flame.

@Travis Sago Most of what ChatGPT said is right. Deal dash is one site that uses this model still today. Essentially the revenue is from participants buying bid packs. The bids were .20 to 1.00 per bid. Most companies allowed for the participants to apply the bids they spent toward the purchase of the product at a discounted price. There was a timer that would be in the last 15 seconds, the timer resets to 15 if a new bid was submitted, similar to the going once, going twice, sold thing auctioneers do in real life auctions. I know about this because I know a guy who owned a penny auctions site that was going public and the SEC was writing regulations along side their process. There's a few companies left because it was a kinda controversial and flash in the pan gimmicky auction site. The challenge I've been considering is how to manage who's applied what bids to the auction in progress, on a manual level. People get insane deals, essentially because the product the company sells is the bids and the price goes up a penny on the item every time someone uses one of the bids. The end timer going back up is what caused a lot of the controversy around it but it's not really any different than an auctioneer that keeps starting over every time they get another bid. I don't know if I would do this or not but the concept and the model is an interesting thing to consider and no matter what, I would want to stay 100% honest with my audience so they stay happy.

@Tom Curtis It's an interesting concept and creative applications could potentially be applied to the concept. Some of these companies were selling cash in the auctions so they definitely got regulated.
The Secret to Growing a Community with EASE
Starting from Scratch... I posted this in Community FIRE Mojo, but not everyone is in there? So I wanted to post here too because VERY FEW PEOPLE on the planet actually UNDERSTAND how to get a community to THRIVE with ease. Hat tip to @Ben Newcomb for inspiring this post. And a hat tip to @Chad Boswell who has been super active in CFM and making it an awesome place to be. One of the MAIN reasons I started CFM is so we can FEED Ronin with DEAL FLOW. The more ya MINGLE, the more money you'll make. Rooting For Ya, Travis

Gen X influencers?
Howdy y'all. I have a good friend and really influential person looking for connections to Gen X influencers. No money involved in this (at least not yet) He's launching a very fun 80's style project and I would like to help him. There's likely to be some real fun and probably serious cash later down the line for what he's working on. I am not however at liberty to say what he's doing. :(
