May 2 check-in
Things went a bit pear shaped this morning: Linnea's car gave problems, so she used mine. Walked to the village for coffee with Charlie from our circle, having home-made burgers with friends after dropping of my cement mixer (for mixing spawn & substrate) at the mushroom farm.

curious if you used any of your mushrooms for those burgers ??

Did well on the basics, squashing the scroll bug. Did the assessment thing at the gym, but not the coaching yet. Coaching starts next week Tuesday, until then I'll do my home routine (check for today)/ join a group class. The gym was a strategic choice - it's run by a public figure, who does a few things in the community that I like, and I'm thinking some proximity to that is not a bad thing. Met him today, so I'm calling that a tick on the "networking" box. A win, and a bit of a double-edged sword: I've been asked to take over a role at work which is a real step up. Good, because it saves me hunting a new contract, a challenge because it will require some learning & focus that I've not had to deal with for a while. Wilder Origins will take some time to truly get off the ground, in the meanwhile I need the money - I feel blessed to have a job, many of my contacts don't.

April 30 check in
Last of the magician(s) Did well except for diet - pizzas 🍕 (homemade - so I'd like to think better quality ingredients) Working through a messy situation with the land lady on the insurance - me having insurance does not mean her insurance is happy. To be continued...

Seeing this post is like watching a weekly tv episode, I can't wait to hear what happens next with the land lady !
3-May Check in - goals for the month
ok figured it out, skool uses basic markdown language and you cant nest bullets. lets see how this looks 🗓️ Weekly Sunday Sync — Week 1 Update --- **This Month's Focus Areas** 🔍 Figuring out my social media brand - What I'm sharing is the knowledge of what I provide — still working on how that translates to social content - Need to talk to my peers about the big value I bring, then figure out how to translate that into posts 📋 Take the family vision/values statement exercise 💪 Work out 3 days a week --- **Week 1 Wins & Lessons** Workouts: Only hit 2 days last week. This week I'm volunteering to take my son to PT at our gym at 5:30am (blah!!) — plan is to get into the workout mindset while he's there, then take him to school after. 💡 Epiphany moment: Saw a recruiter on our team post two topics in one — she tied open roles to our big DC conference coming up. I literally jumped out of bed and ran to my desk to finish a post I had started on my phone. Here's what came out of it 👇 https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7456697724424527872/?commentUrn=urn%3Ali%3Acomment%3A(activity%3A7456697724424527872%2C7456817325682348032)&dashCommentUrn=urn%3Ali%3Afsd_comment%3A(7456817325682348032%2Curn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A7456697724424527872) --- Still figuring out the month as I go — anyone else in the same boat? Open to all and any feedback.

I was wondering if talking to peers to help figure out my social journey, if that would be fun to do on LinkedIn social media publicly and let that feedback expand from there, or focus on doing that verbally over meetings and phone with folks.
April / May challenge check in
Magician retrospective 1: Work on a vision for the shroom saga. I think this went well. Did the work with Jeremy, have the name, tagline and a vision. I still need to take this further into a value proposition for the client. 2: Define my perfect day, and start hitting those. Defined, but way more misses than hits. Needs discipline. 3: Nail down my process for the certification. I'll give myself a passing score here, but there is still work to be done. I think overall the hardest part of this month was hitting this wall of "You're not going to make it, this is too hard, try something else." At one point it was so loud it almost sounded like someone saying it to me. May's Sovereign challenge A challenge it will be - there are a few things happening outside of Wilder Origins, and I'm finding it hard to stay on top of it all. I will do something towards at least one of these, each day except 1 rest day a week: - Find buyer(s) for the mushrooms, find buyer(s) for the excess. - Prep for / make a social media post (post 1 per week) - Publish a basic landing page with one or 2 recipes (I keep getting asked the question) - Networking - go see / catch up on Emma's fermenting & pickling, Toni's community gardens - other? The hope is that this turns into content for social media posts. - Networking - reach out to my old microgreens & local trading contacts / customers & let them know what I'm doing. This feels a little light, but I'd rather hit all these and find something new midway.
