August 1 check in
Spent the day doing a bit of admin, cleaning and cooking for friends that came over for dinner. Had to decline "just a spritzer" a couple of times. No alcohol Saturday. Looking forward to a restful Sunday!

Youth Lacrosse culture
Hey tribe, I am the VP of Youth lacrosse for my local area and starting to introduce wolf tribe culture to the board. I am playing around with a board culture statement for the org and this is my first time doing this. How does this for a start of trying to build a culture statement for the coaches SVLA coaches build players who belong before they build players who win. We are a competitive program and we play to win — but belonging is not what we trade away to get there. Every player on the roster gets real coaching, real reps in practice, and a role they understand. Competitive decisions in games are legitimate; unexplained ones are not. We measure a season by who improved, who stayed, and who came back — not only by the record. And every head coach is responsible for developing the coach who follows them, because this program has to outlast any one of us.

@Bady Martin welcome !!! looking forward to your feedback and see you in here !
Been MIA - no excuses
Sorry tribe, I’ve been hard out on some work that came in. Still all very sketchy but I landed a juicy project. Been talking to a few clients and friends and collective feeling right now is almost apocalyptic. Wildfires across Europe (my niece lives in France and they had to evacuate), Scotland and Canada. Plus all the other lunacy with Trump etc. I’ve also been getting some weird PTSD dreams and shit which hasn’t happened for a long time. Anyway I’ll regroup and rejoin soon.

End of a good week, challenging, rewarding and room for improvement. Warrior month was a bit of a dud for me, energy was just not quite there - definitely failed on the gym side but was very active, lost a little weight but lots to go. Recommitting on that for All-in-August 🦾 I whipped out my cement mixer for the first time in a while to do a few buckets of mushrooms, fun! I did have a classic cartoon moment - as I was rummaging through stuff in the garage, I stepped on the edge of a rake leaning against the wall and smashed myself in the face 😆Might have a bit of a shiner by tomorrow! Hope you all have a good Friday!

I got to ask about the gym , cause I am having the eaxct same problem. Is it a type of mental block that you don't have the energy to go do it ? I keep telling myself I need to or I get to , but I always have this anxiety that I could be doing something else. Then I find myself wasting time on my phone waking up for an hour when I could have been working out. For me the struggle is real.
August is Magician Month!
The Magician archetype is the analytic portion of our personality that brings order out of chaos. It is the inner part of ourselves that pursues mastery and deep understanding. The shadow of this “part” of our psychology is fear-based isolation and need for control and this is solved with faith in things that are larger than ourselves that we can surrender control to. Tribe is one of those things. The Magician archetype is connected to the Desert and Garden phases of the Hero’s Journey. In the desert we integrate new practices into rituals and new behaviors and roles into new identities. In the Garden phase of our life we water the things we want more of and weed the things we don’t. We do not fight or control. The Magician archetype is about mastery, understanding and the development of better choices. Choice is always a function of awareness and this is why meditation, journaling or other form of mindfulness and cultivation of awareness is a vital Magician ritual to build. Like everything else developmental, this must be done daily to activate the ritual and streak engine of identity. This can only be done with the support and accountability of the tribe and going public can be challenging for the Magician. What is your daily commitment to bring order out of chaos in your life next month? Meditation or journaling? Organization of desktop, drawers and closets? Building a strategic plan for your company or family? Let's all get magician clear on a goal and commitment for this month and move the needle. Share your written Magician goal before August and make a daily post for accountability. If you are moving on meditation as your goal we have a Wolf Tribe daily meditation page on Whatsapp that a bunch of us are already using and we can jump you in on that.

I think I will focus on mediation this month with a sprinkling of journalling. Right now our home life is chaos, we are in the middle of a kitchen / living room remodel. One project this month is building culture statement / documentation for the youth lacrosse organization that I just joined the board on that my son plays in.
