"Why are you more expensive?"
"Why are you more expensive?" If a prospect throws this banana skin of a question at you, the worst thing you can do is attempt to justify your fees. "We provide great customer service!" "We guarantee your satisfaction!" "We are good at what we do!" WRONG. Do not pass go. Do not collect $100. Not only are you saying 'wee-wee' more than a frenchman - you're on the back foot trying justifying yourself. And the premium players in any industry never justify themselves. Justifying yourself is a fools errand. Something only salesmen with skinny kids do. If you ever catch yourself doing this, or WORSE - entering a conversation about price & discounts - slap yourself silly, and repent your sins to the Top Dog Gods. Instead... ...Do what the salesmen with nice, plump little darlings do: Hit them with an uno reverse, and ask them... "Why do you think we're more expensive?" They will either... A) Tell you all the things they have seen online which they like about you, and why they have called you instead of Joe Blogs down the road. B) Tell you all the things they value within the potential deal. A, B, whatever. You merely smile, nod, and tell them they are correct. Then you move the sale forward. Simple. Warmly, — CWB. P.S. We've got the lunch time Q&A tomorrow @1pm. If you want a question answered (regardless if you can make it live or not) you should pre-submit it here

Connor how would you tweak this if the conversation was happening because of my cold outreach as opposed to them having called me?
Sales & Marketing Q&A
Hey Gang, The first Q&A is scheduled for the 3rd of October, Friday, @1pm. Bring your questions, and I'll bring the answers. This Q&A will happen on the first Friday of every month. I will take questions live, but I would much prefer if you left them in the comments below, or create a dedicated post if they are more complex. For those planning to attend without a question - that's your prerogative, but it's entirely stupid. Almost no business is without a constraint. If you have no idea where your constraints lie, simply ask yourself this: 1) Do you need more leads? 2) Do you have enough leads, but not enough are booking calls? 3) Do you have enough calls, but not enough are closing? 4) Do you have enough sales, but they only buy once? 5) Do you have too many new customers, and repeat customers creating capacity issues? If none of the above are applicable. Congrats. Let me know, and I'll create a shrine in your honour. If one or more are applicable. You must solve the one furthest towards the top of the list, and that should be the basis of your question. You can quite literally ask "How do I get more leads, Connor?" You should be attacking the singular biggest constraint in your business for thirty days at a time, every month, until you or your responsibility for the business cease to exist. If you are struggling, if things aren't as rosy as you'd like, if things are tough - regardless if you are a start-up, or making tens of millions per year - It's because you are not aggressively, and sole-mindedly attacking the singular bottleneck in your business. So here's an easy recipe for success, and accountability: - Turn up to the inaugural QA with a question about your constraint - Get a clear answer, and guidance - Attack it for a month - Turn up to the next QA with the results - Ask another question about your constraint - Repeat until you get whatever it is you want So ask your questions below or in the community feed. Give me context. And you will get the same help other business owners have paid in excess of £36k for. The same help that made them much more in return.

Fair play Connor for putting this together. I can't make it but I'll check out the recording. You doubt I will don't you? 🤣.
What do you hate about other courses/programmes/etc?
What’s the worst thing you’ve seen in a course or program? Free or paid. The stuff that made you think: “Never again… I’m not going to bother finishing this.” Help me eliminate any barriers to enjoying the upcoming new programme by letting me know below. BONUS: If there’s anything you absolutely love, let me know too. But knowing the hates is far more important. See you in the comments.

I hate when you buy something and then, before you can even digest (and act on) what you've bought, you're hit with a deluge of up-sell efforts.

@Connor Benham Spending too much time telling us why the offering is brilliant before actually getting to the brilliance. Some people just praise themselves ad nauseum before they've provided an iota of value.
Greetings
Morning, all. First, yes, I am mostly retired and focusing on my porn, science fiction, and taking care of Sarah for the comparatively little time she has left. My pension doesn't quite bring enough in for us to live on, but the gap is small, around £1,000 a month. I'm already 20% of the way to making that up with my Kindle empire, so building it further is a no-brainer. A £1k investment over the next year to see if I can make this work is a small risk. It doesn't hurt the insurance company has finally paid out on Sarah's diagnosis (who wants to see the acerbic email that got the cunts over the line to pay up?). I should also get a fair old wedge from the compensation claim following my near-fatal cycling accident in March (I presume you all know about that?). That, and our pension lump sums, mean we're well set up for the future. Nonetheless, I am still open to some business, primarily mentoring and consulting. But I don't need the money, and my fees will make your balls (or ovaries) hurt and your eyes water. Anyway, life is pretty good, all things considered. We're back in the UK now, living in Dorset. In a flat. In a retirement complex. It was a strategic stroke of genius on my part: it's an assured tenancy (meaning we have it for life if we want it), and it's the perfect setup for Sarah as she declines. But. It also means I'm living in a flat in a retirement complex. If you thought old people had nothing better to do all day than channel Victor Meldrew, then you are absolutely right. That said, I swear most of the other residents are already fucking dead, and no one has yet thought to tell them. The old ladies love me, and men hate me — all for the same reasons. All that, coupled with the mind-numbingly labyrinthine bureaucracy involved in importing my car from Ireland, and getting the dumbfuck institutions — from banks to pension providers and everything in between — to cooperate with their legal obligations about the lasting power of attorney I have so I can manage Sarah's finances, means I am effectively living in a Kafkaesque Radio 4 play.

Tough cards for you and Sarah to be dealt Jon. But you'll play them well.
The end... & what it means for you
Hey guys, You’ve probably realised things are quiet on our front. After a long discussion with Jon, we’ve decided to close things down (more on that in a moment). But first, here’s what it means for you: - You will all be emailed Vimeo links/google drive links containing all of the PDFs, videos, etc of anything you have purchased for you to download and keep forever. - This Skool group will shut down soon. Take what you need ASAP. - This is not goodbye forever. You probably have questions, and that's ok. I'll be happy answer them, but here are the FAQs so far... - No, me and Jon haven't fallen out. Not in the slightest. We are still best pals, and have regular calls setup to shoot the shit as best mates. - We made this decision due to ever changing personal circumstances making longer term commitments harder to honour. Nothing to do with anything else. - Yes, Elite, and CoreControl is closing too. - Jon is retiring from all long term engagements. But will consider short term projects that fit within his time schedule leveraging his copywriting, and strategic approach to sales & marketing. He will also be taking the Stoic leadership and attitude model forwards. - I will be continuing down a similar path you have seen Well-Fed Business go down, but with my own spin. I'll be leveraging my ten year+ experience as the man behind the scenes enabling us to build a highly profitable, lean, and fun business - and helping others build out their 'behind the scene stuff'. - Holly’s going to ramp up her business support services, branching out to help more business owners with their operations and the day-to-day. If you want to keep up to date with exactly what each of us are doing, you can sign up to our various email lists below.
