Day 2 Homework.
Reel 1: https://www.instagram.com/p/DUlv_UMD0Me/ Visual Hook: Big cut on the fighters face, tired - Captures attention, adds context to what the text says Text Hook: "When I'm tired going into the last round of my fight... I remember this Chael Sonnen quote for motivation" - Adds curiosity, promises something (the quote for motivation) - Mentions popular MMA name, can catch attention Contrarian Snapback - Funny quote from Chael Sonnen. - Maybe not as motivational or serious as you were thinking. Reel 2: https://www.instagram.com/p/DRLBjQZj1fq/ Text Hook: "When coaches tell fighters the truth" - Captures attention, especially if you are a fighter - you want to know what the "truth" is from a coach Visual Hook: Fighter runs into the cage and closer to camera - Someone running towards the camera captures attention Reel 3: https://www.instagram.com/p/DS2ZSbSiie5/ Visual Hook: Two guys sparring outside in Thailand - Something may happen in the sparring round Text Hook: "Fighter isn't a real job" - Says something controversial (especially to a fighter audience) Contrarian Snapback: "Then explain why I make twice your monthly salary in a year" - First half makes you think he's trying to make an argument against the first statement - Second half may make you re-read it and understand that his statement doesn't go against the original argument and is satire. Also you realize he is the one getting beat up in the video Reel 4: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKFWME9xL-u/ Text Hook: "Can my untrained Fiance choke out an undefeated pro fighter?" - Proposes something ridiculous. Visual Hook: Woman in the video is wearing pink and is small compared to her partner - Confirms your opinion on the situation, gaining interest. Audio: The fighter adds stipulations that gives his fiances a significant advantage

@Kris H much appreciated 🙌
Day 1 Homework.
5 Struggles 1. I sacrificed most of my time, money, and body to pursue a career as a MMA fighter and I’ve had multiple setbacks, injuries, and roadblocks. 2. I was cutting weight the wrong way at an early age, this had created a “yo-yo” dieting cycle that I’ve struggled with my whole career. It comes with risk to my body during drastic weight cuts, slower time back to fighting, body dysmorphia, and more. 3. I have invested more money into my career than its current return. I’ve struggled financially for most of it, and that becomes especially difficult when preparing for a fight or trying to recover from one. 4. I set extra pressure on myself that doesn’t need to be there. Because of this, I’ll overtrain, over-think, and get anxious often. It is often counter-productive. 5. Injuries. They hurt, they’re expensive, they’re frustrating to deal with. I have difficulties when my routine is thrown off from them, and it’s always disappointing when you’ve re-injured it. ______________________________________ 5 Contrasting Wins 1. I love what I do so much that I’m happily willing to go through all the pain and suffering that it takes to be a champion. Building a life for your family, a legacy, and being an example is worth every bit of it. 2. I took the time to learn about nutrition, and I now enjoy making and eating healthy meals for myself. I have developed good habits on counting calories, tracking nutrients, meal prep, and more. 3. I’ve had to work a lot of different jobs to pay for everything and have been able to develop different skills along the way that have been useful to me personally and professionally. 4. I have had experience competing in martial arts at the age of 10. I competed at the U.S Open for Karate at 12, fought my sanctioned MMA bout at 15, and have gained more confidence as I’ve climbed to bigger stages. I’ve developed the skill of remaining calm under external and internal pressure for a long time and it continues to improve with more fights. 5. I’ve been able to become a better athlete by working with doctors, physical therapists, and world champions. I’ve been able to prevent a lot more injuries that I’ve obtained (and that’s alot) and have been able to help others.
