Reel 1:
Visual Hook: Big cut on the fighters face, tired
- Captures attention, adds context to what the text says
Text Hook: "When I'm tired going into the last round of my fight... I remember this Chael Sonnen quote for motivation"
- Adds curiosity, promises something (the quote for motivation)
- Mentions popular MMA name, can catch attention
Contrarian Snapback - Funny quote from Chael Sonnen.
- Maybe not as motivational or serious as you were thinking.
Reel 2:
Text Hook: "When coaches tell fighters the truth"
- Captures attention, especially if you are a fighter - you want to know what the "truth" is from a coach
Visual Hook: Fighter runs into the cage and closer to camera
- Someone running towards the camera captures attention
Reel 3:
Visual Hook: Two guys sparring outside in Thailand
- Something may happen in the sparring round
Text Hook: "Fighter isn't a real job"
- Says something controversial (especially to a fighter audience)
Contrarian Snapback: "Then explain why I make twice your monthly salary in a year"
- First half makes you think he's trying to make an argument against the first statement
- Second half may make you re-read it and understand that his statement doesn't go against the original argument and is satire. Also you realize he is the one getting beat up in the video
Text Hook: "Can my untrained Fiance choke out an undefeated pro fighter?"
- Proposes something ridiculous.
Visual Hook: Woman in the video is wearing pink and is small compared to her partner
- Confirms your opinion on the situation, gaining interest.
Audio: The fighter adds stipulations that gives his fiances a significant advantage
- Contrarian Snapback, with these new rules she may choke this dude out
- Builds interest, you're asking yourself whether or not she can do it.
Visual: He adds cuts that zoom in on his face as he's getting choked, intensifying the moment. Also adds text to amplify the emotion.
Text Hook: "Stop squeezing your chokes"
- Controversial statement, you obviously have to squeeze to finish a choke
Audio: "The way most people do it is very inefficient"
- Builds curiosity, makes you wonder if they way you've been doing this technique is wrong.
Visual: Goes through the technique and explains it.
- You're already invested at this point so you're going to see his version of the technique.
