Cold Calling
Hello! I wanted to post today about Cold Calling. What has everyone's experience been with cold calling? Do you try to avoid it? or have you found success and have embraced the process? I mix in some cold calling with my agency. It's not my favorite thing to do but it has gotten better as time goes on. I think it's a useful skill to have and is something to be practiced. Let me know your experiences and interactions with cold calling. Do you have any funny stories that have come from it? Any nightmares? How about the positives? I hope everyone is having a productive day. Rooting for you

@Vera McBride I agree, I think it is very easy to ignore people now and it's harder to get on the phone with business owners. However, I think there is becoming more of a shift where people are starting to appreciate hearing from a real person now. There are so many email, linkedin, etc services that can just mass send promotional/sales content. I've found that with cold calling, if you talk like a genuine human, it can eliminate some barriers that other methods can't. Going off of that, I think physically walking into establishments is going to be extremely successful because of the personal interaction.

@Kobe Clifton I'm starting to scale up my cold calling efforts now. My friend has access to zoominfo so he has been helping give me phone numbers and emails to call. I definitely think cold calling has a lot of value, I prefer it over cold email but I want to make sure that I am touching people in all areas. Let's definitely talk more about our ups and downs through cold calling.

@Kyle Malecha I can't argue with leveling up. I was wondering what you do for work/your business?

@Kyle Malecha I run my own agency right now helping grow local businesses. What do you mean by a team of growth marketers? Did you start off by yourself and scale?
Internal Organic Content
How important do you make building out organic content for your business? I have found that this is something that I am either motivated to do, or not, which is not a way I prefer to do something. Whenever I am building out content, I either have a ton of ideas and I build out all the content on the spot, or I absolutely dread making the content and there is nothing harder to do. With that being said, I really should focus more on it and post more. I made a LinkedIn post just last week and got interest from two big companies. There is definitely a lot of value in it, especially as your network begins to grow.

@Bailey Clark 100%. I think there is so much value behind having content on your social pages. At the end of the day, it shows you are real, you are active, and you care about what you do. Just showing those things put you ahead of 90% of others.

@Kobe Clifton Hey Kobe! I have had my linkedin for about 4 years. I got it while I was in university and built up my network during this time. A lot of my connections are people I know from school, work, family, etc. I never posted a ton on linkedin like most people do around me. I just started making some posts recently. That was my first post that I got interest in. I will continue to post around 2 times per week to continue outreach, interest, and ideally grow my network and community. If it helps you I have 500+ connections, ~700 followers. The impressions for my post were close to 3,000, so people outside of my network also saw it. I think it can be a great tool depending on your niche and target market. I am really trying to do a bit of a "shotgun blast" and seeing what builds traction the most. In that post, I did not do much of an official offer, just about me, what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, etc. A bit generic but since we are on a unique path, it's not generic to most people haha. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions, I hope that helped.

(Comment and I’ll give one back)

@Bailey Clark Glad you joined, this is definitely a great community to be apart of. The course is nice to get to know basic info and strategies for marketing. The real bread and butter will be with the community and who you network with. I've interacted with @Kyle Malecha and @Enoch Adebisi a good bit and they will definitely give you what you need. Feel free to reach out with any questions or just to chat, I don't bite.
Start Your Day Winning
It is closing in on noon for me today and I could have stopped working 2 hours ago and I would call today a success. A local business opened up next to my gym. I decided I was going to hit my leg day at 6am today and right after, still sweaty, I was going to go into the business and book a meeting with the owner. When this morning came around, I was definitely nervous to follow my plan but I had to follow my own word and do as I said I was going to do. I hit my leg workout extra hard to cope with my nerves hahaha. I knew the business owner goes in about 45 minutes before they open so I waited for him to go into his office before approaching him. I kept the conversation super simple and short to be respectful of his time. I went in, asked him if I could ask a quick question. He was super receptive and welcoming which made things nice. I said who I am, what I do, who I do it for, and if he would be interested in hearing more on a call at a later date. He said he would love to and gave me his personal email to ensure that he gets my message. Let's F****** Go. It was an exhilarating way to start the day and a great way to start compounding wins today. Remember that each day, we have to pursue our wins, no matter how big and small and cherish them. Make each day a good day, and then make the next one a good day. Soon you'll be having a good week, then a good month. I wonder what happens if you go beyond a good month... I'm rooting for you all!
