Truth: Formation is shaped more by what we repeat than by what we intend. Micro-Teaching: Most people assume that change comes from moments of inspiration or decision. But a life is rarely formed in moments—it is formed in patterns. What we return to day after day slowly becomes the architecture of our character. Small rhythms of attention, prayer, thoughtfulness, and obedience begin to shape the interior life in ways we often do not notice at first. I have seen this in my own life over the past year through something as simple as waking earlier. I began adjusting my wake-up time by just five minutes each week. Over time those small changes created a completely different rhythm. Now I’m up before the sun, before the kids wake up, before the noise and activity of the day begins. That quiet space has become a place for study, prayer, and simply sitting before God. Nothing dramatic—just consistency over time. Consistency may feel ordinary, but over time it quietly builds a life that is stable, grounded, and capable of carrying deeper purpose. Practice (Today): Choose one simple practice you want to repeat today. It could be a moment of gratitude, a short prayer, a pause before responding, or a brief time of reflection. Do it slowly and intentionally at least once today. You might pray: “Help me become faithful in small rhythms.” Reflection: What small pattern in your life is currently shaping who you are becoming? Is there a rhythm you want to strengthen or begin? Word of the Day (teaser): Rhythm — the steady patterns that quietly form a life.
