I have multiple pair of oxfords, derbies and some double monks. However, I only have one pair of brown leather penny loafers. I’d like to get some new loafers so I can wear them more casually maybe a sport coat at most. Could go with jeans, chinos and pleated trousers. I’m specifically looking at trying Meermin for the first time, maybe a tassel (I linked penny), and seriously considering suede. Also lined or unlined? I really don’t know as I only have lined shoes. I’m very comfortable buying laced dress shoes but I’ve only recently come around to loafers. New shoe day. My first pair of whole-cut Oxfords. These are from TLB Mallorca. Their lasted shoe trees are even works of art. Perfect time to wear these around the house to break them in. The brass tacks in the heal are elegant and basically just for me. I can easily see becoming addicted to new shoe day!

I wanted to do this “for fun” so I bought jeans and a jacket at Burlington Coat Factory and had them tailored (sleeves shortened and pants hemmed), worn with some oxfords I picked up at goodwill and cleaned up. Without tailoring I’m well under $100 for everything I have on (shirt, pants, jacket, and shoes). I just wanted to share for those concerned with budget. It also makes me feel silly almost that I buy shoes or jackets 5-10x this amount if I stop and think too much about it.

While in Manhattan with my family seeing Times Square and trying to kill some time before our play we go into the Swatch store. I ended up getting this Omega Swatch and the daek blue band to go with it.
