Welcome to the Menopause Running Club! I'm looking forwards to helping you get back to enjoying running and feeling like yourself again To learn how to get clarity, a plan and the motivation to become a stronger, leaner runner in the next 2 weeks watch this short video here. Then, go and introduce yourself to the group - tell us a little bit about your running history, how menopause has affected you, and the main thing you want to get out of this next 2 weeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvmoukf4gDc

Hi everyone. I started running in my early forties and joined a running club which was the best thing ever. I had been previously too scared to join a club as I’m a plodder at the back of the pack. I entered every race going and loved the buzz and completed my London Classics which I never thought was possible. Then Covid hit and I ended up having no gym to go to so lost strength very quickly and the motivation disappeared. Parents both got ill so I had to be sole carer which basically took up all my time leaving no spare time for me although I’ve kept up with the odd 5 k but that’s my limit at the moment. I really miss the longer distances but Christmas Day my knee suddenly said nope! Pretty sure it’s hamstring issue causing the problem. Menopause has hit hard, weight gain I can’t seem to get control of and everything aches bad. Knees, hip seems to be the worst affected. Can’t afford gym membership as can’t work as mum needs 24 hr care now since we lost dad so really looking forward to starting this.

Running for the last 10 plus years. Lucky to have completed a few marathons and love a trail run but motivation and strength gone
