Joy when you least expect it
It’s been wild this week and the kids have been very active. To say i’m overwhelmed and stressed is an understatement. We had errand to do today which translates to take three kids in the car for around three hours which in itself is a feat not for the faint at heart. Had to stop as a couple of them unbuckled their seats. While buckling them in the oldest says “I’m a thirsty as a COW” 🤣😭😂 She’s trying to figure out sayings. She’s got a way to go. But that made my husband bust out laughing and we are still smiling! Look for the joy no matter how small!

Not a saying but I still get a smile every time I think about my preschool son once asking while pointing to his head “if this is your forehead where is your 3 head!” 🤣

@Lisa Kilby Thank you Lisa.
Happy Saturday, JOY Project 💛
I want to let you in on something early… because this matters. Over the next few days, you’re going to start seeing a shift in here. By Wednesday, we’re aligning around a new shared focus: 👉 One Joyful Text a Day. One message. One moment of connection. One simple way to bring more joy into someone else’s life. That’s it. No overwhelm. No complicated system. Just a daily practice that anyone can do… and everyone can feel. This is becoming the mission of The JOY Project. Not just talking about joy… But actively creating it. Every single day. On Wednesday, I’ll invite you to take a simple pledge: To send one joyful text each day. To someone in your life who might need it… or simply deserves it. Between now and then, I’m going to start sharing more - why this matters, what I’ve been seeing, and how powerful something this small can be. For today, just sit with this: 💬 Who is someone you could send a kind, unexpected message to? No pressure to act yet… just notice what comes up. We’re building something really special here. And I’m so glad you’re part of it. 💛

Love this and looking forward to being a part of it!
Joy check… let’s make this visual 😄📸
Enough talking about joy. Let’s see it. Because sometimes a picture captures what words can’t. The little things. The random moments. The stuff that just makes you smile for no big reason. So here’s today’s Friday fun: 👇 Drop a photo of something that brings you joy. • Your morning coffee • A walk view • Your pet • Your people • Your workspace • Something totally random that just makes you happy No explanation needed… but you can if you want. Let’s fill this thread with real-life joy. And while you’re scrolling… 👉 Like a few 👉 Comment on a few 👉 Borrow a little joy from someone else’s world Because sometimes seeing joy is the fastest way to feel it. ✨📸

Have you heard of Bloomscrolling? 🌱
New term for me… and I’m kind of obsessed. We’ve all heard of doomscrolling… that spiral where you leave your phone feeling heavier than when you picked it up. But bloomscrolling is the flip. It’s choosing to notice what’s good, what’s working, what feels even a tiny bit better… and staying there long enough for it to register. Because here’s the wild part: Your brain works like your social media algorithm. What you engage with… you get more of. So if you keep “clicking” on stress, frustration, what’s missing… your brain serves up more of that. But if you start engaging with joy? ✨ A good conversation ✨ A moment of calm ✨ A tiny win ✨ A laugh you didn’t expect And you pause there… notice it… name it… maybe even share it… You are literally retraining your brain. That’s bloomscrolling. Not fake positivity. Not ignoring hard things. Just expanding what you see. ⸻ Let’s try it together today: Drop ONE thing below you’re bloomscrolling right now 👇 Something small. Something good. Something real. I’ll go first: Sunlight + this community + coffee = undefeated combo ☕✨ Let’s train our algorithms… and our brains. 🌱

✨ WELCOME TO THE JOY PROJECT ✨
If you’re new here or you’ve been quietly hanging out in the corners, or been a joyful contributor from the start - I am SO glad you are here! You belong here. The Joy Project exists for one simple, powerful reason: to make joy a daily practice, not a someday reward. This is a community rooted in: - real connection (not performance) - kindness that actually shows up - laughter, lightness, and depth coexisting - choosing joy even when life is full, messy, or uncertain Joy isn’t a personality trait here. Joy is a strategy. And we practice it together. 👇 Let’s start where all good communities start: with YOU. Please introduce yourself in the comments: - Your name - Where you’re joining from - One small or big thing that brings you joy right now 🎂 Birthdays = joy multipliers Check the community calendar. If your birthday isn’t listed yet, drop it in the comments so we can celebrate you properly. 💛 Invite your people This community grows best through warm hands and open hearts. If you have a friend who could use more joy, more connection, or more permission to be human, invite them in. No sales pitch. Just belonging. This space is alive because of the people in it. Thank you for being here. Thank you for choosing joy. And thank you for helping build a community that feels like exhale. Now… come say hi. We’re so glad you’re here. 🌟

@Shannon Connolly mine is too Shannon. It’s the start of my day now and it really helps with mindfulness.

@Shannon Connolly At first I was hesitant being such a private person and worrying someone would find and read it. But now I’ve come to the conclusion that it would get boring rather quickly for a reader other than myself. lol
