Thank you, Allen. I am looking forward to meeting you all. I have been using AI since 2022, but my interest in artificial intelligence goes back much further. I still remember having long discussions about AI with my cousin, who was studying Computer Science, while I was studying for my Bachelor’s in Electronics and Computer Engineering back in the 1990s. In many ways, and the deeper roots of AI and computing go back to the 9th-century Muslim scholar Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, who lived and worked in Baghdad, Iraq. We should be grateful for his work and contribution, because without those foundations in algorithms and mathematics, human progress in science, computing and AI would have been vastly behind where it is today.
@Misti Shine a great deal of what we now call AI rests quietly on 9th-century Muslim scholar Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi shoulders, and on the House of Wisdom tradition he was part of.
