Learning the Ropes
Alright just ordered my first ropes for rope flow! One quality rope from Slush Ropes on Dustin's recommendation and two cheapy Amazon ropes just to play around with to see what weight and length I like best before I buy some more. Love it! I can tell this is going to be like buying guitars or getting tattoos. Can never get just one and always looking forward to what's next!

Hey I just posted our first real course. You can find it under the classroom tab at the top. I figured I can't ask you guys to do the assignment if I don't do it myself so I'm answering the 3 questions. Hope you do it too! What's your favorite way to move? I love the steel mace. My favorite thing is free flow. I love just losing track of time when lost in a flow and accidentally discovering new moves. What sparked your interest in unconventional fitness? I was looking for something to help with my shoulder injuries and found steel mace. I was also just bored with standard weight lifting. Then the pandemic hit and I became obsessed with all kinds of alternative exercises. Where is your favorite place to get your movement in? Park, gym, garage, living room, or somewhere else? I mainly practice in our nice little back area lawn. But I love doing it with our group down at the park. My favorite place to mace has to be Hawaii though. Even brought a mace on our honeymoon!

It's a tie rope flow and steel mace flow. Very different, both amazing. Friends invited me to a mace swinging party in North Hollywood. Not the sort of thing I pass on. I have no indoor spaces large enough to swing anything worth swinging so right now its Sierra Madre and my front driveway. I plan on finding new locations around town maybe a park or two in the near future. I climbed to the top of the Giza pyramid in my 20s. I wish I had rope flow and steel mace flow then. Ideal spot. I am looking for another spot like that with fewer steps, maybe an escalator :)

@Dustin Montez I'm excited to find that spot! Maybe Vasquez Rocks? Anybody for a short road trip for some rock flow???
New Online Class
No in person meet up this weekend but I just put the video version up in the classroom under the January Flow Class. I really had a ton of fun making this one and messing with a new format. Let me know what you think of the cheesy music and graphics 🤣 Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank you, Dustin! Excited to jump into the workout. Cheesy music can only add the experience.
Questions Answered!
1. Favorite way to move, loving Shaolin moves, and anything behind the back. 2. @Erik Messal introduced me to this group and I am grateful for that - I genuinely love meeting up and learning these flows. 3. Favorite place to move is first at the park with the group, second in the garage where I can stream the lessons and learn at my own pace, third, will be outside on vacations once I learn enough to feel confident enough and can just lose myself in a five minute or longer mental flow. 4. Thanks again @Dustin Montez fot taking your own time teaching us the awesomeness of Steel Mace.

So glad you joined the group, Richard. You are progressing so quickly with the steel mace. I look forward to our Sundays in the park!
Sunday Class & Full Shakespeare Flow 1/11/2026
We had a good turnout today with 5 people in attendance. I personally had a blast! We worked on the January Flow which we are now officially calling the Shakespeare Flow. I really like this flow and we will continue to fine tune it and add to it throughout the beginning of the new year. I'm posting the video of just the flow here again because in the previous one I posted I left out the switchblade uppercut. Make sure to hit me up if you have any questions! Post a video of yourself doing the flow if you're feeling up to it. Siri Cat makes a little cameo appearance at the end of this video. 🐈‍⬛
