Gen V LT in 1967 Chevelle - WIP
Will keep this thread running with pics and progress swapping a Gen V LT1 into a '67 Chevelle. This first post discusses the fundamentals for getting the engine into the car. On the chassis side it has stock SBC frame stands in the factory position. On the engine side I used ICT Billet 551363x Gen V LT to SBC motor mount adapters coupled with Moroso 62500 solid motor mounts in the forward most "1" holes so that the bellhousing lands in the stock location...so that my transmission crossmember and driveshaft can be re-used. There is a minor clash with the mount and the vacuum pump provision (only exists on early gen V blocks: L83, L86, LT1/4/5, won't be an issue on L84, L87, L8T later blocks) that you can either mod the mount or the block, I chose to grind on the block a bit since I won't be using the factory vacuum pump and plugged the vacuum ports with ICT Billet 551298 plugs. You'll also need a suitable swap oil pan. I chose the Holley 302-20, which clears everything by a mile! I exchanged their oil cooler blockoff with an ICT Billet 551357. Next post(s) will talk about about engine prep, trans install, and then header fitment. Check back soon..

Slacked on keeping updates here, made big strides over last couple weeks. Lot of EFI wiring and plumbing done, intake set on and TB figured out, coil mounting solution and custom plug wires built, front accessories figured out. Another week of dedicated effort to finalize the "car wiring" and weld up exhaust...should be ready to fire up. Objective is to drive to our Let's Taco 'Bout Dogs car show next weekend.

It is alive! Short start up and walk around (audio not dead on same as in-person sound, but can get a feel for this cam and exhaust), will have a full feature situation coming soon.

Couple sound bites, although the mic doesn't capture it exactly same as it sounds in person.

Tires had too much tread on them, had to fix them 😇
Valvetrain geometry
If you are ever going HUGE camshaft, make sure to check the valvetrain geometry before putting it together, it looks good until the we reach max lift!

Going to machine the stands to get the rocker down and improve this?

Bottom end decisions
OK guys, I need some opinions about my 6.0L build. It was a core engine that I picked up cheap and ended up only being a collapsed lifter, everything else looks fine. I'm already going to be removing the rotating assembly to install new bearings, but at what point do I go with a better than stock rotating assembly? this is a Gen 4 engine, so I know the internals can handle a bit more in stock form, but at what point do I go ahead and start swapping parts out? its kind of turning into a "well, since I'm already here" type of thing, and I'm not sure that's warranted

I'm with both these guys, it depends on desired outcome. A 6.0L with cam and headers will sound great, be reliable, and do satisfactory burnouts in your C10. If you're trying to make a lot of power and go fast, then consider upgrading parts.
Exhaust loop for l83
Hey guys, does anybody know the measurement of the passenger side exhaust loop for a 2014-2018 Silverado? I'm getting ready to do some much-needed exhaust work and don't want to have the nasty clap trucks get due to the unequal exhaust flow. K&N wouldn't give me the overall length, and I'm not buying theirs for 150 bucks when I have the pipe at home.

Hi Jeff, can you clarify what you mean by exhaust loop? What would someone be measuring?
