@Taiton Cheever this started out as a simple upgrade from the factory 305. It was slow to begin with, but after a lift and 35" tires, it could not get out of its own way. I put 4.56 gears in it which helped get it rolling but just not enough. This is a play truck, not daily driver, which will be used for occasional light towing, mild off-roading, and trips to the hardware store. The power goal is, more HP and torque than I had. So I am in the early stages of the LS swap. So far have done a motor refresh on the 6.0 LQ4, valve job, all new bearings, polished crankshaft, truck Norris cam with upgraded springs, pushrods, trunions, etc. Keeping stock truck intake but adding long tube headers. The 98 Vortec has a different fuel delivery system than the donor LQ4, so I want to handle that effectively. Again looking for a quality cost effective solution.
