I’ve got a 416 LT with 2.9 Whipple and using Holley Terminator X for engine management The problem is the motor will not run properly after 5800 rpm Running AN 8 fuel line 2 340 pumps in the gas tank LT4 injectors LT 4 high pressure pump NGK LTR71X-11 plugs 23 gap It’s making 8 pounds of boost at 5600 rpm and then it starts breaking up !

Hey David, I just saw this one pop up when Jared responded. It may also be high pressure fuel system being out of time or not making your DI Target high pressure fuel pressure. I'm only vaguely familiar with this topic but listened to Blaine at BTR talk about tuning that parameter on their boosted LT stuff using a TermX.

Tahoe alternatives
Hello everyone. I have a 2022 Chevy Tahoe LS, 4WD w/ 10 speed automatic. It has an L84 5.3L V8 with the dreaded DFM system. Have about 68,000 miles on her, so far running well. My question is this, which LS V8 in non AFM or DFM form will swap into my Tahoe and be compatible with the trans and electronics ? Is there a GM crate engine that would work ? I’m an old school GM guy (262-400 ci small block, 396 and up big blocks), so my familiarity with the modern offerings is limited by comparison. Just trying to plan for lifter issues down the road. I have researched the full DFM delete kits to convert my existing motor, but would like to know if there are other options.

@Charles Bahleda While you're in the holding pattern, many folks recommend an oil separator on these Gen V engines. I put a J&L unit on my 2020 L87 Sierra, pretty low cost, SUPER easy to install, and is keeping oil out of the intake (which is what gunks the back of the intake valves on these DI engines). HELP steam ports and fuel lines
The "junkyard" motor is 95% rebuilt and I am approaching the actual swap day in the next week or so. As a first time LS swapper, I am officially in YouTube paralysis! The more videos I watch, the less clear I am on direction. Any suggestions on the steam port kit I should use? 2004 Lq4 going into a 1998 k1500. Using a replacement 2004 HD radiator with electric fans. Additionally, looking for a kit or piece meal the fuel lines, AN-6 fittings, and a quality corvette style regulator to go with the stock fuel pump/filter set-up. Any and all help appreciated.

Hi Rob, glad you're making headway on the swap. In most applications using a 2-port (i.e. front only) is totally fine. 4-corner are only "required" if the engine sits dead level in the vehicle. Most will block the rears with stock plugs if you have them or 551693 from us, then use our 551675 front crossover with hose barb or HS-LS01-2P front crossover with AN fitting. All that's left is connecting that vent to your radiator or upper hose or to an expansion tank. Is there a feature on that HD radiator to plumb a hose to? If not, we recommend our 551627-20x125 hose coupler with 1/8 NPT port to connect your steam vent to. Start to Finish - 5 Tree build 😎
Snagged a block from a local guy. The 5.3 came out of an early 2000’s truck with low miles for its age. Decided this one was going into my new rock crawler buggy. Was a fun mild build all around & was able to get both my kids involved in there first engine build so that was cool. Looking fwd to hearing this thing come to life one of these days. Should be a blast on the trial.
