Getting back into the challenge after the holiday
After cooking for Christmas, my moon cycle and rejuvenating, I am ready to experiment with the cold and increase my primal movements with crawling. I want to get to 5 minutes with crawling (mainly baby and bear, going forward and backward). Tomorrow morning, during the dawn hour (29 F) I want to walk around the backyard barefoot. I have been highly triggered by cold air for two months, so I will take some puffs out there with me. During my moon cycles in the winter, I can barely fast for 12 hours. So I am pushing that time out longer starting tomorrow. I want to get back to an 18-22 hour fast. I add in orin and water looping to make the fasting easier. I also drink black Purity coffee in the mornings. The new thing I will do next is with fermentation and seed sprouting. I have my cookbook out, The Gut Health Cookbook by Dunja Gulin and Cate's recipes and gut shots. I have a few things to buy so I can get those started. I am still buying my kimchi at least one more time before I try it myself. (I have some kimchi recipe books to look at from the library.) I ordered more seeds for sprouting. I am nearly out of mung beans. For those eating sprouts or microgreens, fall into winter is the best time to order them. The later it gets from a fall harvest, the less availability till next season. If you have fallen off from any one primal habit, you can see it is easy to make a plan and jump right back into it again. Post it to keep yourself accountable too. I am looking forward to my walk. Part of me posting this here ahead is to ensure I am doing it!

@Sarah Kremp Keep dialing in the time you want to fast and maintaining it or increasing it if that is your goal. Then it may be easier to add the exercise time in earlier. Notice everything that worked for you to do your longer fast time. The clear mind is a great result from the longer fasts. I like to do visioning work when I do a long fast.

We are getting a bunch of snow tomorrow, I am ready for cold plunging in that! Looking at my post from 2023, I have a similar plan for winter 2025. Love the primal habits!
Going deeper with fasting and Primal Habit - urine therapy
On Dec 6 into the 7, I did a 23 hour fast, ate one regular meal with a healthy fat and protein. I leaned into drinking fresh orin/urine and water. I followed that into December 8th and did a full 24 hours orin/water fast. I could feel a higher vibration that felt more natural and I felt more able to stay in it. It was a test for me to see if I can do this monthly. My version of doing an FMD, Primal style! I am doing it again. My boyfriend gets to fast for a colonoscopy, so its great timing for me to do the water/orin fast again. My intention is to let it go longer. I could tell this last time it was helping my highly triggered allergies and asthma issues. I would like to give it enough time to normalize again. I am adding in the primal crawling. I start off with just two minutes. I want to try it on the steps too, going forward and backward. (for those out of shape or recently ill) this feels better to start slow and add a minute every few days to reach that 10 minute mark. Always find your pace. My truest intention is to really lean into Primal habits each day and notice the changes in myself. Witness my true self emerging more and more. For me that always involves playing in some dirt too, so I will be outdoors, cleaning up the yard and garden. I need inspiration from others when it comes to the cryotherapy, so....share those cold experiences!

I did a 16 hours fast on Dec 17, 22 hours on the 18th and 14 hours today. I am going to stick with 14-15 hour fasts from now through Dec 26th. Then I will bump it up to 16 and move back into a 22-24 hour orin water fast, one meal when needed. Megan advised me after 3 days of orin/water looping, the urine may have a harsher taste and darker color. It's moving toxins out of the organs. I know I can do two days. I am crawling each morning, varying the type. I am ending with a few girl push-ups. It's time to start walking outside more now.

@Elizabeth Stauder It is part of the positive feedback loop for the body. Although it can get harder to drink. Just listen to your intuition and how you feel about it. If you feel it is right for you, I would. If you feel like going a little easier/less for a period of time, that may feel right.

It gave me the opportunity to work for myself. Because of an injury, I haven't been able to work for an employer. I like the business structure and the live calls are highly beneficial in getting things done and learning what works best. We often get great feedback from Cate and each other. Tons of resources. Just get clear on how long you have access to the class content. That was never clear for me. I feel the program has actionable steps to follow from point A to B. I feel it was well worth my investment.

@Beth Meek Have them clarify exactly what you have access to while in WPA (wellness pro academy), are you getting access to Body Thrive, Club Thrive, any specific certification you are working on. Once your term is complete, what will you still have access to and where will that be located? (that is what I mean)
Is it possible to drink too much fresh urine? + a couple other pee Q's
Hello! Really glad to get connected with this group. I've just begun drinking my fresh urine, as well as using as eye drops, swishing & doing enemas in the last 24-48 hours. I find that I can drink it without aversion most of the time, perhaps because I've been on a deep microbiome cleanse for the past two years straight, and already do 2x daily enemas etc. I'm sooo curious how this will shift things and already feeling some more satiety (not as starved for food) which is amazing. Three questions I have off the bat: 1. Is it okay for me to drink my urine even though I am currently actively detoxing toxic heavy metals? 2. How much is too much urine to drink? Is it okay to be drinking all day every time I pee or is that way too much for a body just beginning this process? 3. Can I use my urine to water plants and/or add to my cat's drinking bowl, or is it only medicinal for me? Thank you!

@Megan Macdonald can answer the best. Yes on the 3rd question, dilute with water for plants. You can add it to the cat dish. I haven't tried that, I have given it to cats with a syringe, mixed with a tiny amount of ginger water...one cat eats a poisonous plant outside sometimes. It saved her twice. You can see an immediate improvement. My oldest cat, it helped her tremendously.

@Elizabeth Stauder it is possible, the urine can make medicine and supplements more biodiverse. You can either adjust the urine down or adjust the vitamins and minerals amounts. You can have the doctor recheck your blood to confirm what maybe too high to accurately assess which ones.
Shingles - Please help
I haven’t been on this platform very much since you left FB. I hope I will get some responses. I have studied with you all in Body Thrive / LAC off and on. Shingles. sores on left side of body (thoracic area). I know these burning sores need to be cooled in various ways. Body needs cooling. Any ideas other than: Soak feet in basin of cool water, then oil feet with coconut oil. Put coconut oil on the blisters? Would you do that? Put a little coconut oil in something warm to sip on. Any other thoughts re: shingles? Please help Is this going out to.members (not just Cate). I am not savvy with Skool and am assuming old format that worked so well in FB

@Cindy Kronick have you tried doing a liver cleanse? It releases a lot of pitta. I am not sure if you have considered urine therapy. Make a compress with cotton tshirt or wool, dip in fresh urine, wring it and lay with it on your skin for 20 to 30 minutes daily if you can. It does take pain away and heal the skin faster. My mom uses a natural sponge for areas that are harder to place a cloth. You can explore some of Cate and Megan videos on YouTube about urine therapy.
