Although it looks kinda cool, I find the dark background and bright lettering a little hard on the eyes. At first glance, I also have no clue what this is ๐Ÿ˜‚ But I don't know who your target market is. Perhaps for them it'll make total sense. As I scroll down and read the text to try to understand, I don't gain much clarity. (The text also sounds very AI-generated. Again, for your audience, that may not be a problem.) As I read further down... I start to get a little bored tbh (sorry!)... it seems like a lot of cool sounding stuff (I like the squirrel creativity!) that doesn't really get quickly enough to the point of how it helps me โ€” in a way that I could actually believe. Again, I'm probably not your audience, so take this with a grain of salt. I know this is a mock-up, so it's not actually real. But it gives such a strong impression of not being real that I'd worry about the finished product. I personally wouldn't trust a website that looked like this in a million years. Even though it's about an AI-based product, I want/need to be able to trust the human behind the wheel. Again, this might be an audience mismatch thing. Hope something in there is helpful...

@Altaf Sayyed THanks! And thanks for you helpful feedback on my post.
Please roast my homepage
I'd love to know if it's clear from my homepage what I offer my clients. Do you think I need more detail on the homepage? Also, do I do a good enough job of building trust? https://zenafreelancewriter.com/ Thanks in advance!

@Eric William Will this link expire? It's super helpful and I want to make sure I can keep accessing it while I work on improving my site.

@Eric William Very helpful! Glad it won't expire. It'll take me a while to gradually improve my website, so I'm happy I can keep referring to it. Thanks again!
Itโ€™s been 8 years
Iโ€™ve been working on a business that involves me writing books and promoting the books of others but Iโ€™m not successfully gaining awareness of my business or gaining customers. I donโ€™t know if the problem is in presentation, the fact that I donโ€™t have a following, or the fact that I havenโ€™t had the finances to advertise (even tiny ads (though I think Iโ€™ve done 2 or 3 mini ads totaling about maybe $40 towards them)). Outreach, marketing, and networking have definitely been my weak points. Because of this, I havenโ€™t truly been able to test if my business is viable (though others have been successful). Iโ€™m hoping being on Skool will help. I have to at least first get the people to me to know if it works. Itโ€™s been 8 years. Any suggestions? Should I keep going with the idea? I have a few childrenโ€™s books , a novel, and a friend who has a lot of books who I promote. Iโ€™m working on other books now. I just began to build a community for this yesterday.ย I did get a little feedback on it already. https://www.skool.com/sunjoy-books-7017/about

Hi @Stacee M, I've been a freelance writer since 2018 and started writing fiction in 2020, and have been involved with the writing community during that time. There are a LOT of writing related communities on Skool. I was planning to start one myself (first on Heartbeat, then on Skool), but after 6 months of love, effort, and money (including Facebook ads to grow an email list, content marketing, running a live workshop, etc.) I decided against it. Basically, I decided I couldn't make money doing it. The main reason is that it's tough to be distinctive and persuade writers to listen to ME, because I don't enough *relevant* experience/credentials, compared to what's already out there (both on Skool and on the internet more broadly) for writers. Your About page at the moment seems very generic, and it's just not going to cut the mustard I'm afraid. There's too much competition. I think you really need to do some deep analysis of your competitors. For this, I recommend the classes inside the Community Growth Academy. I learned so much in there, and continue to do so. It's founded by a ghostwriter who sold a writing community for big bucks in 2021 and there are a lot of writer members in there who want to start communities. The ones who'll be successful have an audience, or can grow one, and/or they have something really distinctive they can offer with authority and proof.

@Stacee M I do! That much hasn't changed. And I still love working with writers. I'm currently doing a 30-day writing sprint with a few writer friends, which is going well!

There are plenty of ways to get leads and clients, and most people do several of those. If that't the case for you, what piece of your flow is the most important for your business?

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster Your post was great! But, tbh, I participate in this group because I find the feedback useful and I like to reciprocate and be helpful when I can. For my freelance business (which is focused on construction and construction technology professionals), I don't expect promotion on Skool to be very effective. I'm planning a more general profile on Upwork that might be more useful to promote on here, though!
