Another Question
Q: Will everyone make a game together at all, if so when?🤔

The plan is to have a free course here in the group soon, so everyone can learn to make their own games, but it would also be fun to have a game jams where everyone makes a game together!
Question?
You've probably said this somewhere but, what do we use for meetings?🤔

The meetings are on the Skool platform itself. There is a link to a live call in the calendar event
Game Dev Hangouts!
Hey everyone! We're kicking off our weekly Game Dev Hangouts next Wednesday. There is no set agenda for now. Just drop in, hang out, and chat with me about anything related to gaming or game development. You can also ask questions and get help or feedback with your projects or with getting started. Check the Calendar tab for your local time, and hit the 👍 if you’re interested in joining!

Introduction of Sappy and me
Hi everyone, I’m Daniel – solo dev working on an emotional-survival game called Sappy. For the last months I’ve been building a 2D top-down game where the whole world visually reacts to the main character’s emotions. Sappy has two core emotional states — Sad and Happy — and the environment shifts with him: colors, textures, lighting, even movement abilities (lower jump when sad, more strength when angry, etc.). My goal is to explore a message about accepting every part of yourself and turning emotions into mechanics. I’m doing all art, code and design solo — hand-painted textures, Unity implementation, reveal systems, emotional world states, etc. I’d love to know if the concept resonates with you as fellow devs. Any feedback, criticism, or questions are super welcome. If you’re curious, here’s the itch.io devlog with the first introduction: https://itch.io/blog/1139813/introducing-sappy-a-game-where-emotions-shape-the-world Thanks for having me here!

Welcome to the group! Nice to see you documenting the process, it's going to be great to look at in a few years to see how far you've gotten! The game idea looks interesting, I imagine it can be challenging to design game mechanics that work well with the emotions.
Bad Diagnosis for me
I have hypophantasia. That means, instead of seeing an image on your mind, if you’re lucky, you see a flicker of an image. When I was young(like 3 years old) I had at least some visuals on my mind’s eye. But school took that ability… The main problem: I cannot imagine any graphical things until I see it… So what do you think? Is this a problem for my game dev career?

It depends, but I would say probably not. The best thing you can do is to not think about the diagnosis, but rather think about what are the things you CAN do or learn instead. Maybe you struggle with drawing from the imagination, but you could do other types of games that aren't so reliant on the visuals. If you can learn logical concepts and coding, and focus on interesting mechanics and systems, then you can do tons of different games. If you can learn some of the things needed to make games, then you could be a part of a bigger team. You could for example learn to do sounds, music, programming or game design.
