In this live call with my co-host @Alexandra Manea we discuss the behind-the-scenes and future visions for Infinite Artist. ( sorry for the infinite zoom screen, Skool is still working on that LOL) ....AAAANNND.... using INKTOBER as momemtum into 2026...THE YEAR OF THE ARTIST!!! 👻🎃👹✏️🖌️🚀♾️♾️♾️
I guess it's two things for me. Distraction first as I'll prioritize other things before getting my butt in the chair to draw and may spend days doing that before finally getting to art. That's getting less and less though. Then when I do sometimes I draw consistently, I will get drained out when it's not the original fantasy art ideas that I want to create. So my goal is to draw fantasy heart-art every day and not just anything - studies or commissions generally are the other things - and I think what stops me from doing that original art is perfectionism or fear of it not being good enough / not as good as my studies and therefore feel I need to study more rather than create honestly.
This is an interesting video of a coach I follow helping someone get to the source of their creative block ( a very common theme with artists;) Hopefully there’s some insight for you guys, let me know what you think! https://youtu.be/nH0tWr9b1JY?si=NW9p-fNvbDA01-hr
Yeah, I just saw this the other week. I'd be curious to know how she proceeds beyond the call. Does what Joe led her through 'stick' or was it a momentary epiphany that iddn't last? I certainly related to being in my head as an artist.
Hey guys, I thought it’d be fun to post any drawings you might have from childhood! Post yours in comments🤗 ( Chucky and Plucky duck from 1990… I was 14! lol)
Here's one with an interesting story. 20 something years ago I was a paper boy (I'm 33 now) and I slipped on some ice outside a lady's house. I knocked on her door to ask for help as I hit my head, and she called my mom. I don't remember exactly. I then drew her this and gave it to her as a gift. 20 years later, she's now 80, and she looked my name up and found me on Instagram. Sent me a message with this image asking if it was me. Super cool to have her reach out and share the art I gave her so long ago. The top word cut off on the right side is 'hurt'.
