Back from the AI Advantage training in Austin 🎒
Update from the AI Advantage event in Austin 🎒 A few of you asked how it went, so here's the short version. The whole night was about one thing. Overwhelm. The room was packed with people who know AI matters but feel buried by all the tools. Two things I'm already using that fit us as advisors: The don't-do list. Write down what drains you in your business. Then for each one pick: eliminate it, automate it, outsource it, delegate it, or replace it. Mine was follow-up messages. The context sandwich. When you ask AI for help, give it three lines first. Who you are, what you need, what good looks like. The answers stop sounding generic. I liked it enough that I'm going back Oct 8 for the full-day hands-on workshop. I'll report back on what actually works for travel advisors. What's the one task in your business you'd hand off first? 👇

@Christine Berencz I have... my marketing guru (Local Lead Pros) had an AI bot set up to handle and organize my emails.. it's working very well so far. Only missed a few that weren't that important. Training the bot has been kind of entertaining. I have 9 email accounts so it's taking time.

@Christine Berencz I have to use 9 to keep everything organized. I use Perplexity and ChatGPT. I'm only having 3 main ones monitored right now.. the others are coming as needed.
The cruise question clients are too embarrassed to ask you 🚢
Saw a post in a big cruise group this week. Someone apologized before asking if she could sleep in her car at the port the night before sailing. She didn't want to pay $200 for 4 hours in a hotel. Dozens of people jumped in with advice, and half of it was risky. That stuck with me as an advisor. She never would have asked a travel agent that question. She'd have just worried about it. So now I bring it up first with every cruise client: "Where are you sleeping the night before?" Then I offer a park and cruise hotel near the port. They stay one night, leave the car for the week, and get a shuttle to the ship. The client feels taken care of before they ever board. And the hotel is often commissionable too. Whether you're booking already or just starting out, what's the question you get most from friends and family about travel? 👇

How will you be handling your transfers and transportation to and from the airport, hotel or cruise port? Can I offer you some suggestions or referrals? How about if I get that booked for you?
A few of you have asked what I've been building with Claude and ChatGPT lately
...so I figured I'd just ask directly instead of guessing. I've been putting together some AI tools for my own trip building process, supplier research, pricing, client intake, that kind of thing. Before I build the next round I want it shaped around what actually annoys people day to day, not what I assume is annoying. So here's my honest question. What's the one part of running your travel business that eats the most time or drives you the most crazy, the kind of thing where you think there has to be a better way to do this. Drop it in the comments if you want to go into detail. I read everything. Poll: What's the biggest time sink in your day to day?

Hi! I'm Anna Hensley and I've owned a travel business since Mar 2020. I started it to replace my 25 yr career in real estate property management. 2 days after I opened, the World 🌎shut down...eeeekkkk!!! I've traveled the World🗺, mostly Europe and love💕Italy so much. I'm a curator of amazing trips, combining wine 🍷🥂and travel. I stand out with customized itineraries that focus on what the traveler is seeking most. Designer trip meets Luxury experience. My bucket list trips are Ireland and New Zealand .... why only have one 🥰
