Tuesday and Friday Live Premium Coaching Calls
Nothing turns a reader off more than an opening that doesn't show craft and care and that certain something all great scripts have. - David Stem If you’re new, and the above statement scares you, that’s okay; every one of us feels a lot of emotions when sharing our pages. Family members and friends are rarely trained story analysts; hence, we need other writers to give us useful and effective feedback. Come to the premium live coaching with David Stem and the Writers Forge community. Not part of the Premium plan? Reach out to David Stem. Here’s where you post your pages and casting. Here’s the link for the Tuesday, March 24th, Premium Coaching Call. Here’s the link for the Friday, March 27th, Premium Coach Call

@Chad Desrochers totally. You were missed @Pia Crawford
I'm speaking at a screenwriting conference this weekend. If you want tix, hmm below.
I'm one of the keynote speakers at Allegory Live. I'm going to be taking the Wound, The Lie and The Small life that I teach in workshops here. If you'd like to attend, one of our members who put this together has made a couple of tickets available. HMU here or DM me if you'd like to come. First come first serve. Thx. D

Tuesday and Friday Premium Coaching Calls
Another week is about to start. Please get your pages and casting up on the link. Make sure you either place your pages on March 17 for Tuesday or March 20th for Friday on the program link above. Screenwriting is hard. You have to be very courageous to put yourself out there and be willing to accept that your pages will need to be rewritten, revised, and sometimes torn to shreds in the process of making something great. To paraphrase our fearless leader, David Stem, the magic happens when writers stop protecting drafts and start refining them in real time and revealing all of themselves to other writers. Hey @Chad Desrochers I'm a bit mixed up with the time change. What time is the coaching call starting tomorrow?

@Chad Desrochers OK, so I did read that right. Thank you
The Bloodletting of a Writer
One of my biggest fears is writing a screenplay that hits all the right marks but evokes no emotion in the reader/audience. I can sometimes write with blinders on, more concerned with adding pages and formatting than with crafting a more evocative story. This can come from dodging the thing that would make the story great but would potentially make me uncomfortable. To paraphrase David Stem, "The parts you’re afraid to write are the only parts worth writing." Which one of these do you resonate most with right now?

@Chad Desrochers i can't speak for everyone, but I think you pretty much nailed it on the head with this statement for most of us. Tension is a familiar companion these days for me. Tension and elation. Feeling high from writing the good write then tension when considering everything that comes with trying to bring it to the world. It's a constant push and pull. And it's exhausting at times. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.
rip it to shreds
i worked hard today. every artistic session i set myself up for the next one at the end. im exhausted good night. oh. i almost forgot. i plan to rip my script writers storry to shreds using my voice and movie and writing skills next. tomorrow is a rest day. ill be back in the creative saddle later.

You rock, Jason! I woke up at 4:30 this morning with a scene playing out in my mind, so I got to work. Feels good to be on fire.
